Name: Raymond Johnson "RJ" Keeper

Age: 21

Occupation: Recently a worker at a Zoo, worked with the sea animals, also a short time Author (since the age of 17), including Online College Student

Height: 6'02"

Eye Color: Brown

Nationality: A USA-born-and-raised-Asian, consisting of Chinese, Filipino,
and Spanish

Appearance: At first glance people will generally say: a casual nice looking guy. Unfortunately not many people have gotten to know the casual nice guy, only in a blue moon... He is a clean person, he bathes once a day sometimes twice, although his hair is pretty messy. He dresses casually, and wears glasses.
(pretty much looks like my avatar, err, except without the snorkles)

Likes: Pretty Old Music (70's-90's), Drawing, Writing, Reading, Playing Video Games, Comic Books, Horror Novels & Stories, Sci Fi

Dislikes: Rap Music (just some), Mean people, Ultra Hard Video Games that are flippin' hard when you first play them, Racism

Personality: RJ is the type of person whom many people know but don't appreciate that much, he was not so good with ladies, he is sometimes annoying, but he has another side not many people get to see. On that side he is usually really quiet, listens to calm music, and just reads.

History: RJ grew up in Honolulu, Hawaii, born into a military family he was able visit new places, from the Phillipines to Japan. When he was about eighteen he wrote his first book: "The Bees and Trees", which was a collection of short stories he had written. The book was praised by critics and audienced alike, although it had some criticism it was a success. He took a "vacation" from writing by working at his relative owned zoo. He especially loved to work with the sea creatures, mostly the whales or dolphins. After a few months of working he decided to quit and start on a new book. It was released when he was about twenty, the book "Voodoo" was given positive reviews, though not the best he had written it was still favored by many. A few weeks after its release he turned his head on a sequel which would require him to travel to different places. During his research on different rituals he noticed one in Crete, it was then decided that he would travel there.

Present Life: RJ is busy going around the globe studying things about rituals, voodoo curses, etc. He is currently looking for a flight to Crete and will be going across its shores.

How he gets to Taurica Nesos: During his visit to Crete he noticed an unusual island while he was boating off Crete's shore. He thought that would be a great place for his story, only bringing his notebook a pen, pencil and some luggage (containing: a camp set and a few weeks worth of clothes) he headed off onto the island. Unfortunately he ran out of gas (he had spent 75% of it exploring the shores, and the last of it getting to the island.), so he decided to find anyone who inhabited the island who could help him get off... He didn't expect what he was going to face.

Okay, this is good! 3nodding This is a good foundation for a character, plus it is perfectly acceptable for someone to be stranded on Taurica - it's how the Kubri did it in the old days, anyway. (Before there was the INTERNET and AIRPLANES to use to target people. ninja ) However, as I said in the island's story (and I appologize for it being a bit confusing), but Taurica Nesos is now far off the shores of Crete in Greece, since the Kubri started a new island in said location.

I like the idea of him being a writer, and in searching for ideas to write about, he stumbles upon the island. All in all, this is a good start - yet, it is rather short. It gives about as much detail into his persona as the back-pannel summary on a novel gives into the book. I'd much rather read the book than the teaser. For example, it would be nice to learn what relationships he had with people in the past, or what his likes and dislikes are, or what his living conditions were like right before he came to the island - what's it like to be a writer, and how would that react with a new life on Taurica?

In short, this is a good start, but it could really be expanded upon. The more detailed and grounded a character is, the easier it is to become the character. 3nodding
