Ok, well. I have a form of OCD. I worry unnessacarily and I end up making myself sick. I do take medication for it but, sometimes I feel like I need more. I afraid to ask my mom to increase my dose because, I don't want to end up getting hooked on it or something. What should I do?

If you haven't invested in a therapist, I suggest you do so. I used to worry so much that it made me sick too, but thats because I was in a stressful situation. Upping your medication really might help out. But if you don't want to, then try talking to your doctor about a new medication, or perhaps a combination of meds. It took me a little while to find a combination of meds that really helped me out.

I did talk to my mom about getting a therapist but, decided not to. I guess I'll ask her to up my meds.

I'm all for meds as a way to help you keep your problems in check.... Not as THE way.... Upping the dosage could be dangerous. You become dependent on that one pill that keeps you straight.

You should be more focused on keeping yourself in order, not letting the pill do it.

I agree with Newski. Becoming dependant on a pill is dangerous. But leaving the problem unchecked is too. A therapist would be a good thing, I suggest asking your mom again. My mom doesn't like mine, but I go because it takes stuff off my mind. Finding someone to talk to and keeping a journal may help to help get rid of the excess emotion would be good also.
I have a form of OCD also. What I try to do is take what I'm thinking and slow it down. I ask myself why I'm doing what I'm doing and if it makes any sense, and then if I really need to do whatever I'm doing.

If you don't mind me asking, what exactly is your main pet peeve with OCD? I have contamination phobias (getting sick. as a result, I'm really smart on the subject of some sicknesses.) and I'm afraid of poisionous substances like household cleaners - very embarassing for me - mainly, along with some other things.
