Senior in college - taking mostly art classes and taking interest in older art styles of different eras to hopefully improve her own. Part-time, Nikki has volunteered at local horse stables off and on, depending on whether or not a position is open.
Human Appearance
Unlike most women her age, Nikki is absolutely against any sort of makeup going onto her face. Though at times she's been known to cover up a few rough spots with a little something that matches her skin tone; which is fairly pale. As for her usual appearace, she will stick to the basics of jeans and a t-shirt, consisting of a few colors; black and dark blue for the jeans, and anything from purple to red for her t-shirts. That is, excluding pink, or so she likes to tell everyone. During the fall, winter, and spring seasons Nikki will also add to her attire, a baggy red sweatshirt; almost always keeping her hands inside the frontal pocket.
Nikki's hair is a natural light blonde, though when she was younger people would have swore up and down it was white; but that's a different story. For someone who has yet to show interest in beautifying her body... the hair should be no surpise. For the soul purpose of practibility, she keeps her hair in a low pony-tail, usually sloppy and with a few fuzzy strands sticking out in front of and behind her ears. Out of the pony-tail, her hair is about an inch or so past her shoulders.
Her light blue eyes are always hidden by thin framed, oval shaped glasses; for her vision otherwise would be horrible. How horrible? Most everything, without the aid of glasses, looks much like a blurred splash of color with no details. Lights as well would remind her of tiny fireworks confined in the relative shape of the bulb.
One random fact about Nikki, is that she blushes and blushes often, giving her the nickname of 'Rosey' from her schoolmates.
Personality
At first Nikki is considered quiet, and it wouldn't be a stretch to call her shy if the situation calls for an encounter with classmates or people of importance. And though it is her intention to be relatively friendly, she often comes across as distant or weird.
Though this just scratches the surface of who she really is. If feeling at ease with a certain company, she is rather open about her opinions and ideas. Hardly serious unless in a foul mood, she is sarcastic to an art, despite the fact she only means to play around. Her humor, is an odd one, as she finds most things that aren't meant to be funny, hilarious; to the point of having a smirk on her face with a bit of quiet laughter.
Normally she finds ease alone in her apartment, listening to an alternative rock radio station while frequently drawing or rp'ing on the internet.
Background
Moving to Texas at the age of 3, Nikki feels as though the state has adopted her, and if asked about her residency, she will gladly boast 'Texan'.
Throughout her life though she had a fairly normal upraising, going to school when she had to, learning the things she was suppose to, and of course feeling the strain of being the eldest child in the family. Ever since she was little Nikki has been told to be a good influence, and had an interest in cooking. But that soon went sour when that interest was taken over by the little sister. In school, Nikki has always felt her size persay, and has grown to dislike most teasing from relative strangers.
Mostly, her mind has been on fantasy and the stories she's seen on tv and read in books. Throughout middle school and highschool Nikki has tried her hand at writing her own novels, but none of them seem to get finished. Luckily, her interest in drawing has only gotten stronger as she improved, and as she was introduced to role play as a freshman in highschool. She found RP to be a perfect excuse for her desire to draw, and since then she has strived to both perfect and stylize her own art. To do this, she has taken to researching different styles throughout the eras, particularly taking in an interest in the gods of different civilizations and how they were depicted in the various drawings, carvings, and crafts.
Nearing the time for college, she had moved away from her home in Texas to attend school on an art scholarship. Though, in need of money, like most are, she had applied for and gotten a job at a local shopping mart, restocking the shelves every weeknight 6 to 12pm.
Present Life
Presently Nikki is nearing the end of her college career, and is completely unsure about what to do next. It seems the only thing that she has taken an interest in lately is the arts, and she fears that such a job would not be sucessful in her future. What to do... what to do.
How she gets to the island:
After graduation her granparents surprised her with a trip to Europe so she could visit her family's homeland of France; or at least, her grandmother's homeland. After researching the art styles of the country with the hotel's internet service, she finds herself quite interested in a particular ancient dipiction of a whale and the sea. She traced it back to somewhere near Greece, luckily the owner of the site had done most of the digging and had posted it throughout the rather lengthy wall of text, and Nikki set off to find it.
With some more prying on her end, Nikki figures she'll be able to find out the orgin of the whale artifact.
