Just in case you're a moron.... SPOILER ALERT!!!! Oh, god. Oh, god. It's over. It's... over. I should try for real sentances now. Um.... Severus. Yes. I knew it, I trusted him, he was brilliant, I love him so much, and then... it was so pointless, his death. So pointless. And Fred! Poor George, poor baby... I called that one, too, I'd like to point out... but I didn't want it to actually happen! And Dobby... I cried for Dobby. Lupin and Tonks, too... but it was kinda thrown in there like an afterthought, which was sad. Harry died. Harry lived. What the ********. I can't even be angry at JKR, although I might be eventually... But right now... Oh, wow... See, Dani? We were right. Everything happened. He died. He didn't die. Both. Everything, both. He was a horcrux, but he wasn't a horcrux. Yes! Brilliance! Except the 'Lupin is evil' bit... heh heh... Severus... I... Severus. Yes. And Colin! Awww... And the fanservice! Insane! JKR does love us, maybe. Well, not those of us who are Slytherin, clearly. Glare. but... yes. All said, it was very much worth the time spent in line.

Lupins >> And I am regarding Tonks as a Lupin. Out of all the characters that died beforehand, they were the only ones I cried for. And I mean, I bawled when they died. I went into that book, upset that Lupin had married her, but in the end I was happy. And... Teddy... Man, when Lupin announced Harry as his godfather, I suddenly didn't want Harry to die. It would've been a horrible Sirius-thing, all over again. I bawled when I thought Harry was going to die, because I worried for Teddy. I love Teddy. TT.TT And, I did hate how they kind of just added Lupin and Tonks' in there. Like, "do de do de do... Look, there are the Weasley's mourning Fred. And... well, isn't that a sight! Lupin and Tonks, too! Shucks." For that, I wish death upon JKR. Unbearable death.
Severus >> Dude, I love that man. I can't even form a sentence strong enough to show my love. I just... ah. And at the end, "Albus Severus Potter"... I cried, I admit. Actually, I sobbed.
Overall, honestly, I liked the book. Third is still my favourite, though, but Deathly Hallows is most definitely my second. Don't know the order of favourites anymore. Don't care. Just... DH... I just finished the book, if you hadn't guessed. I was stopped from reading the book on Saturday due to chores and family gatherings. And then on top of that I had to work today. Oh, how the world hates me. ><
BUT, the one thing that I almost clawed my eyes about was...
"The scar had not pained Harry for nineteen years. All was well."
... All was well? That's how she decided to end her beautiful series? Dear Lord. I think I burst an atrium.

Oh, god, yes. The epilogue fails. A lot. Ugh...
And I agree with you about Lupin and Tonks' death. Pointless... Like, I couldn't even be all that sad about it, because it was a sentance long.

could have been worse, she could have said Harry felt a slight twinge from his scar. She left out who ended up raising Teddy at the end. All we know is that he was snogging some girl and he's 19. I laughed when it hit me that Draco has a receeding hairline at the end of the book. I cried when Dobby, Fred, Colin, Remus, and Tonks died. Kreacher had me laughing hysterically. And Finora my mom took my book like 5 chapters before the end because I didn't want to stop to walk the dogs. I have a bad feeling that the 7th movie is gonna be the worst b/c there is no way they can cut stuff out! 4 was my favorite but it changed. 7 is now my favorite simply because I thought it had no fillers and was the best written.

Sadly, The only time I actually cried was when Harry was talking to Lily, James, Remus and Sirius and walking to his 'death'. I kind of went "No! I liked you! I didn't want you to die!' when Fred died. And when Remus and Tonks died, I was kind of like aw... that is so sad. Then I thought of you, Finora, and then thought that Harry was Teddy's Godfather and was also only seventeen. And then when we knew for sure that he was supposed to die I thought first "I knew this was coming but I'm still sad" and then thought that there was no one to raise Teddy.
Who's daughter was he snogging? She was a cousin, so she was either Bill, Charlie, or Percy's daughter.
I adore Severus. Just adore him. When I read the "Albus Severus Potter" thing I went "Aw. Thank you. I love you." To Harry. Completely out loud. Man I talked a lot as I was reading this book razz
I didn't like the happily ever after-ness of the epilogue. I did however adore Harry's kids. I adore Albus. He's so cute. ^_^

Oh God, I wanted to glomp James and Albus. They are so adorable. And James is so devious. *cackles* Reminds me of Prongs himself, or an evil mixture between Prongs and Padfoot. It's... Padong. Or, Pronfoot. razz
Oh my gosh, when the book said that Harry HAD to die, the first thing I thought of was, "NOO!!! DON'T DO THAT TO TEDDY!!!" You may ask, did I scream it this loud, considering I finished the book at 3 am? As a matter of fact, I did. My Dad was reading to cut my throat and hang me by my large intestine from the ceiling, but I did it because I felt so much emotion. By the end of the book, I couldn't stop myself from squealing in excitement or crying in sorrow. It was all so much emotion, all rushing together into this big... emotion-puddle.

Teddy was snogging Victoire, who is - judging by the French name - Bill and Fleur's daughter.
I actually quite liked the epilogue. "Albus Severus" almost made me cry.
SNAPE WAS GOOD!
...Had to get that out of my system. And I totally called Snape/Lily being semi-canon, remember? Also, I remember saying that Snape might have asked Voldemort to spare Lily's life, and I was right! Hah!
I was so wonderfully, deliriously happy at the fact that Ron and Hermione's characters finally developed well, hated Umbridge (damn, she is a well-written villain, isn't she?) and ADORED Good!Kreacher. Woe at Dobby's death, though.
Dumbledore & Founders backstory was awesome, as was random Ghost!Backstory. I'm so glad Dumbledore turned out to be good after all, even after all the doubt cast on his character. The brief phase where Harry believes that Dumbledore is actually Machiavellian!Dumbledore was all worth it.
One of my favourite moments - discovering that Snape's Patronus is a doe because of his love for Lily.
One of my least favourite moments - probably Ron leaving the other two. It just felt so...awful.
And one of the most surprising and wonderful moments - Dudley thanking Harry for saving his life.
I was a little annoyed to see that our glorious House was once again made fun of but happy to see Phineas Nigellus carrying the torch for us right at the end in the Headmaster's office.
(And you'll all be happy to know that I went and represented Slytherin and The Serpent's Cove at the release over here in Townsville!)

Everything from the chapter Harry's dead on I didn't really like.
Voldemort's death was pathetic, and for some reason it reminded me of the end of Death Note in terms of what happened to Raito. It was completely ridiculous that the Dark Lord died by a) the first spells cast, and b) his own hand. On the other hand J.K. could just be trying to prove how very uninformed Voldemort is...
And it seemed like J.K. was trying to do too much with the wands at the end.
I didn't like that marriage between Lupin and Tonks (Lupin is closer to her mother's age then anything), and the scene where Lupin said he made a mistake marrying her was just awesome.
Their death was insignificant and I didn't like that, but I absolutely adored the scene where Harry summons Lupin, Sirius, and is parents. I still say it was better he died.
For the bloody saviour of the wizarding world Harry is a moron and should be speared for his idiocy. "Oh, sure Bathilda, even though you're acting completely loony I'll go upstairs alone with you! I'm only the future saviour of the wizarding world after all. Hey, while I'm at it, why don't I just hand over my wand? Oooooooooo, do you have something for me?" And then he followed the doe! Alone! Like, my God.
I hated the epilogue, but I loved the Draco bits, and the Severus bits. And reading that makes me wonder which crazy fangirl has already begun an Albus/Scorpius with implied Drarry fic. Certainly not this one (lies).
I loved Dumbledore in the seventh book, and learning about Dumbledore. That was cool. He was so... human.
And ok, the Snape loved Lily thing (and then he started to love Harry as well) was just adorable, and it made me happy. I honestly thought Snape defecting had something to do with Lily.
I didn't like Draco in the seventh book, but I mean... What could he REALLY do? He was trapped, and so were his parents, so he had to behave. Poor baby. But I like that Draco's family did actually love him.
I cried for Dobby. Actually I had to set down the book and cry for Dobby. That was really upsetting. I also cried for Fred a little, and well, I was already crying when it came to the SENTENCE about Lupin.
OK, the part where Harry was thinking about his death seriously freaked me out, because almost everything he thought, I've thought before (except, you know, the saviour of the wizarding world bits). I really got into that chapter. And although I was really happy Harry was going to die, I was also terrified.
I like at the end, when Molly took out Bella. Molly pwns.
There's more, but it's 5:45, I've slept for 3 hours, and I can't focus.
Overall, I liked the book, and while it's not my favourite, it's really useful knowledge-wise.
EDIT: So, just curious has anyone else had an anxiety attack over the fact the Harry Potter is over?

Ok, defending Harry when it comes to Bathilda, she was called loopy from the beginning. Rita Skeeter called her a crazy old woman, so I don't really think he pictured her any other way besides a little off the wall. The part that I found incredibly infuriating about Harry is how he was believing Rita Skeeter's words. I was like, "Harry, you are such a dumbass." But, the thing with Bathilda, I didn't think he was being a complete moron. Sure, it wasn't bright to go up there by himself, but he didn't really expect Bathilda to be anything but loopy.
I didn't like that marriage of the Lupins at first either, and I got really upset when I found out that Tonks was pregnant. I think Tom is still mad at me for flipping out at him because he asked me if he could have the blanket I sat on. I was really, REALLY mad. But, once the baby was born and I saw how harry Lupin was, I couldn't help but be a little happy that he married Tonks. And I thought it was absolutely adorable how he wanted to protect her in the end, and then she came and chased after him... *sigh* Although I hate to admit it, it was cute. And Diana, age shouldn't really matter all that much, not to you at least. I mean... Snarry? Honestly, woman!
Oh, and the 'too much with wands'... I agree. I couldn't help but be reminded of lightsabers in the end.

Ha ha ha! Lightsabres! That is delightful.
I guess I can ALMOST see the Bathilda thing, but I still think it was stupid to trust someone he just met.
And I agree that I like Teddy, and I'm glad Lupin was happy, but the rest of the marriage is no.

I like Tonks, and I adore Lupin, so if I were to choose any female to be with Lupin, I might have to say that I like Tonks with him. If I had to choose a living female.

Diana_Faye Everything from the chapter Harry's dead on I didn't really like. Exactly. Before that, though, I thought it was awesome. Quote: Voldemort's death was pathetic, and for some reason it reminded me of the end of Death Note in terms of what happened to Raito. It was completely ridiculous that the Dark Lord died by a) the first spells cast, and b) his own hand. On the other hand J.K. could just be trying to prove how very uninformed Voldemort is... *has no idea what happened to Raito* Yeah, it was a bit pathetic... And really bizarre, when you think about it. And horribly anti-climatic. Quote: I didn't like that marriage between Lupin and Tonks (Lupin is closer to her mother's age then anything), and the scene where Lupin said he made a mistake marrying her was just awesome. Well, apparently, accoring to someone from the subforum, if you look at the dates they suggest that Tonks was pregnant before they were married. SO, my theory is: In the 6th book, Tonks was constantly telling Remus they should be together and such, and giving him reasons. Dumbledore dies, Remus needs solace, he sleeps with Tonks. Tonks becomes pregnant. Remus is like, 'oh, s**t', so he marries her. He then proceeds to regret it, until little Teddy is born, because honestly, how can you not be excited when your child is born? And then continues to 'stay together for the kid' until they die. I mean, look at the scene where Lupin gives the news about Teddy. He's super-excited, for the first time in forever. All he says about Tonks is 'she's okay'. He's only happy because of the baby. He's so not in love with her. The end. Quote: For the bloody saviour of the wizarding world Harry is a moron and should be speared for his idiocy. If I was an evil person, and I wanted to capture my enemies, I would send innocent-looking does. It would be awesome. And yes, Harry = idiot. Quote: I hated the epilogue, but I loved the Draco bits, and the Severus bits. And reading that makes me wonder which crazy fangirl has already begun an Albus/Scorpius with implied Drarry fic. Certainly not this one (lies). You're writing a fanfic? Do I get to read it? (you always say yes, but then I never actually get to read them) On that note, do you still have the fic you wrote in England? Quote: I cried for Dobby. Actually I had to set down the book and cry for Dobby. That was really upsetting. I also cried for Fred a little, and well, I was already crying when it came to the SENTENCE about Lupin. I cried more for Dobby than anyone else except Severus. And I didn't even like Dobby... Quote: EDIT: So, just curious has anyone else had an anxiety attack over the fact the Harry Potter is over? Oh, yeah. You should have seen me the night I finished the book. Adam was frightened.
