Alright. I clean my navel piercing. Twice every day with saltwater. Had it done since April, and It started getting red near the beggining of this month, so I went out and got some tea tree oil, and started using it, just like I have for all my other piercings.
So, a keloid has developed over the top ridge of my navel, directly under the circular stop of the curved barbell. A slightly larger one has developed on the inside of the belly button, under the barbell.
So, basically, I've started using three salt water soaks [hot as possible] since last week. They afren't large enough to the point of worry, but I'd really like to know any non-surgical forms of treatment. Lots of metal and love, Rainbow`

How do you know it's a keloid and not a hypertrophic scar?

The one beneath it is hypertrophic scarring, that much I'm sure.
The one above has all the tendencies of keloiding.

First off- Sea Salt does not clean!! It soothes, it promotes healing and on the flip side it dries out. Have you considered a reaction to the metal? I would change it out to a different material.

Yeah, it's hypertrophic scarring, and after two weeks of cleaning, it's downsized and scabbing. :] That's a good thing, believe me.
My industrial's comming tonite, I'll make a picture post for that when it's done. :]
