BOOK REVIEW FOR THE ALCHEMIST Author Name Paul Coelho (sp?) Book Name The Alchemist Type of book (fiction/horror/biography) fiction Difficulty of read (think of the average person's def. is it kid friendly? Adult material? etc etc It's easy to read. A fifth grader could understand the basic idea of the story. However, to be able to grasp the underlying ideas of the story I think the reader would need to be in high school. Character or plot driven? It's a mixture of both but I think it's mostly character driven. What you liked about the book (be careful not to put spoilers about the book) I loved the overall theme of the book; that it's your destiny to follow your dreams & that anything is possible if you believe in yourself. I also like how the main character makes mistakes. Any other info. you'd like to include. You should definitely read it!

Author Name: Robert Bradford
Book Name: Red Sky At Morning
Type of book (fiction/horror/biography): fiction
Difficulty of read (think of the average person's def. is it kid friendly? Adult material? etc etc: Pretty easy to read, but some of the material could be considered kinda mature
Character or plot driven?: Story kinda jumps around abit, so I'd say character
What you liked about the book (be careful not to put spoilers about the book): Alot of funny dry humor, but touching in it's own way.
Any other info. you'd like to include.: About a boy that moves to an unfamiliar town and faces problems together with his new friends after his father goes to war in Normandy.

Author Name: Sergei Lukyanenko
Book Name: The Night Watch
Type of book: Science/Supernatural Fiction
Difficulty of reading: Easy to read with a couple big words, i would say a 12 year old who loves reading and is fairly bright would understand it fairly well. I consider it kid friendly as long as they are the slightest bit mature.
Character or plot driven? A mixture with mostly character.
What you liked about the book (be careful not to put spoilers about the book)The concept was really good, It makes me wish I as an "Other". And the main character Anton is very three-dimensional and is realistic - hes not very powerful yet he still is the main character.
Any other info. you'd like to include. Read it, you wont regret it! I am not held liable for any regression of reading The Night Watch

Author Name: Alice Sebold
Book Name: The Lovely Bones
Type of book: fiction
Difficulty of read (think of the average person's def. is it kid friendly? Adult material? etc etc: Easy to read, mature themes (ie murder, death, sex)
Character or plot driven?: Both
What you liked about the book (be careful not to put spoilers about the book): The main character tells the story from heaven. A very interesting format as she's omniscent, but has a very distinct role in the novel... very rare for a book to be set up like that... Amazing insight into the human race and how we deal with death.
Any other info. you'd like to include.: Must read. End of story.

Anne Rice The Vampire Chronicles Fiction/Supernatural Not difficult (but mind you guys, I think everything is easy to read. And, I read fast) It's a bit of both. The characters have a strong voice, but the plot does drive as well It's a series. About vampires. Hello?! That says enough
Warning: I don't recommend for children. I read these in 6th grade, but mind you, I was a very mature kid. There is a LOT of sexual content and other such things involved.

Leo Tolstoy War and Peace Historical Fiction. A lot of people think it's really hard, but I didn't really think anything of it. There are five families and the book is divided among them. So it's mostly character driven. Wow. Just wow. A masterpiece about Napoleanic Era Russia. Brings a lot of Deep Thought.
