This thread will be all about Dolly Parton and/or Loretta lynn and/or Johnny Cash. All three artists kind of have a 'rags-to-riches' story, all of which are great stories. Dolly parton came from a dirt poor mountain family, most of her songs (like "Coat of Many Colors") were based on actually events that took place, as were Loretta Lynn's. Loretta's father was a coal miner, hence the song "Coal Miner's Daughter," which was a true story song. I think it's amazing how these people came from having absolutely nothing to having as much success as they have had. The late Johnny Cash came from a very poor farming family, and though her got involved in them pills and what not, he still made it to the top. All three are legends and I think they deserve a thread on here as I have not seen thus far.

Out of all of them, I love Dolly Parton the most. She is beautiful, writes her own stuff and she is so funny and down-to-earth. I love Crippled Bird, I Will Always Love You, 9 to 5, He's Gonna Marry Me, Coat of Many Colors, and many more. I've been to DollyWood several times, seen her at the Opry, and I've seen her at the Reba Tribute. I'm not obsessed...I'm just a fan, and I enjoy her concerts so much. 3nodding
