This, you guessed it, is the collective journals of my Ginger Kits: Yes, Eloi, HollyAnn, Linden, Kaede, Lucidity, Insanity, Lock, Joshua, Eldar, Velvet, and respective to the order they came into my life. With the exception of Eloi, Kaede, Linden, and Lock, their names and themes where possible are related to music, bands, and/or song titles. Each profile has a name explanation for the GK question.


Yes, the fae-winged Fire kit whose negativity and density has been the butt of jokes and pranks. His stubbornness and fearlessness in the face of the anthros is almost legendary.

HollyAnn, a water-loving lass who predictably clashes nearly constantly with her brother. She looks to the future and past equally with hope and wonder.

Linden, the only anthro (until recently) and a Shaman, whose patience and mild demeanor are a stark contrast to Yes, though she seems to get along with him the most readily (nevermind that he is not nice to anyone).

Eloi, one of the few Nationals, hailing loosely from France. He loves to chat and drink coffee, while simultaneously sticking up for his brother and listening in on the latest prank at Yes' expense.

Kaede, another National, this time from the other side of the world - Japan. More so than the others perhaps, Kaede tries to rule by principle and morality before personal feelings. He may not have the keenest sense of humor, but he is not afraid to show his true feelings when given the right circumstances.

Lucidity, another member of the Fire tribe, is in many ways similar to Yes. However, where his green brother flares brightly when his temper is sparked, Lucidity burns a different way. His is a cool-burning flame that sparks the imagination and dreams. He is often very quiet, but will speak with surprising eloquence when addressed.

Insanity, one of the earliest of the Torn to arrive, is probably one that fits her appearance most completely. She does not believe in facades and lies. If she feels something, you will know. If she does not understand, she does not worry about how stupid she may look. And if she gets angry, nothing will survive unless she wants it to... suffer.

Lock, a mountain-type, likes to think of himself as majestic and charismatic. The reality is much less impressive, yet instead of being overly pompous and stuck in his ways, Lock wants to improve himself. He is forever scheming and trying to learn, though he is not the smartest Kit around (and deep down knows this).

Joshua, half-grown and suffering from "spoiled only child" syndrome, he has a difficult time sharing his two fathers. Those whom he must share with he does not particularly like, namely Shaman, Wei-shan, and now Eldar. Kaede and Yes simply dote on him more than is probably healthy, but they can't help it. Neither had ever had eggs of his own to care for, and both are terrified that in his tininess he will be hurt or somehow neglected.

Eldar, the newest member of her family, and another rare aerokit. Possibly even smaller than her elder brother, Eldar is yet another tiny babe her fathers must tip-toe around. Unlike Joshua, life is not entirely full of love and doting. While Yes and Kaede do try to spoil her, she has a jealous brother to deal with. She cannot comprehend why he would dislike her, just as she has no concept of "mine only." She has nothing that is completely hers, nothing that was not Joshua's first.

Velvet has the unique position of growing up with the two aerokits and being separate from them. His predicament is unlike Eldar, who at least has someone to share with. Velvet feels forever looking in from the outside. He looks differently (quadrupedal), acts differently (more independent), feels differently from the 'siblings.' As a result, he is never quite sure where he fits in, anywhere.

special notes - Lock, from The Nightmare Before Christmas. I don't think of him as a cosplay, but I was trying to think of whom or what would be Halloween-themed and red.
