My discovery of asexuality was a gradual one, when I was younger, I had liked the idea of romance, but I never the idea of traditional "intimate" relationships. As time progressed, I discovered that I felt different from those around me, not only was I uninterested, but I didn't even like the idea. Within time I began to classify myself as a nonsexual (and I still do), because although I still liked the idea of romance, I felt no desire for a relationship, and although I could still make judgements in my head as to whether or not someone was physically beautiful, I never felt attracted to anyone. It was not until a friend of mine mentioned in passing that I even considered the idea of being asexual.

I actually found this guild before the guild itself had been created. You see, a while back a player by the name of Persiflage created a topic called "An Asexual Person", which I stumbled upon and began to read. Unfortunately Persiflage had to leave gaia, but before he did he suggested an asexuality guild, to which someone replied that there was already one in the works. Following that, I was lucky enough to find Miss Nironia's create-a-guild thread, which I had stalked ever since.

Whew, so. As you can see, I'm no good at introductions, and have zero people skills. redface Right. For quite some time now, I've had no desire to have sex. I've had it before, and some say that doing it at sucha young age has traumatized me. But I say that learning early was the best thing for me. It's not that I never think about sex, I just don't want to actually do it. So maybe I'm just in a phase, or maybe I'm asexual. It's nothing I'm in a hurry to figure out, as I don't quite care for labels...but it would be nice to clarify some things.

How you discovered asexuality: Here on Gaia, when I went to ED and found the threads about Asexuality. I was interested in the subject, because I had never really had an interest in sex.

How you discovered asexuality: I don't know the exact point. I know I'd been calling MYSELF asexual before I realized it was a more widely-used term. I just used the notion that the prefix a- means without/anti, such as amoral being without morals. Therefor asexual seemed to fit for someone entireley indifferent towards sex. I like that definition actually. Indifferent. After all, I can talk about sex, joke about sex, write about sex, read my roomie's hentai... heck I have an erotic novel dedicated to me (but because I helped with some Japanese translation... not because of anything else). But for me it's like... meh... like baseball or cooking or the color purple (which is a very good color by the way0.
Anyway, only very recently did I discover that "asexuality" was becoming a term used more widely.

How you discovered this guild: Mmmm... very recently discovered the Asexuality Talk thread in ED. Was reading through it when I found mention of the guild in someone's sig, I think Nironia's but I can't remember exactly.
