The Setting Among the fogs of time there lies a corner of the world untouched by the races of lore. Dominated by high mountains and lush green forests lies a forest home to creatures of all sorts and tempertalities. Among them live a pack of wolves, at home and hold a "truce" with the other creatures of the land. They make their den along the banks of a gentle river that runs from the high mountains to the low plains a great distance from them. This is their story. Safe HavenDenRiverWaterfall

Places As told by the narration this story takes place in a lush forest. Near the eastern borrider, of which begins the foothills of the Wintery Mountains, lies a clearing near the edge of the gentle river. In this clearing, nestled among the roots of a tall, wide willow tree lies an opening in the dirt, fresh dug. This is the home of the pack, a den of sorts dug out by a protector of it. He strays very seldom from it, only to keep watch on the field where often other assortments of creatures make home in. If you follow the river down along its course it breaks into a towering waterfall where the ground suddenly drops down about sixty yards. Here, there is prime fishing area as fish are stunned when they hit the still water underneath.

Profiles Name: Kyo Race: Wolf Gender: Male Job: Protector Description: A smallish wolf, but sleekly built. His fur is as black as night itself, save for a crimson scar that runs along the right side of his well-weathered face. The dark-red eyes hold a sadness that few others know about, though he defends the area with a vengence. Mate: N/A Pups: N/A ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Name: Loba Race: Wolf Gender: Female Job: Pupsitter Decription: She is an aged wolf, who dispite her age still cares and watches the younglings with tremendous energy. She has been a pupsitter nearly all her life. She never had any pups of her own. She is an old, small and frail looking female wolf; with a greyish-brown coat and a thin tail that is going bald. Her most distinguishing marking is one on her snout, a line of white fur curves down and dips about half way down and a small circlular patch of brown lingers in the middle. She is also very wise and calm. Mate: none Pups: none though considers all the pups she's cared for as her own. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Name: Arch Race: Wolf Gender: Male Job: Hunter Description: A thoughtful wolf that acts childish from time to time, poking fun at all others, wolf or not. He is a decent size wolf with piercing bright golden eyes. He is unique in the way that he hunts. From hiding in trees to sneaking up from behind, he experiments with his hunts, but has only caught half of what he hunted. Though he could be mistaken for an old wolf with his eyes and shaggy exterior, he is only a little over a decade, which he finds young. His paws are a bit smaller then other wolfs, but they aid him in moving fast to catch a prey. His left ear has a huge knick on it from hunting a prihanna(SP). Mate: N/A Pups: None, but hopes to soon in the near future. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Name: Shi shi Race: Wolf Gender: Female Job: Healer Description: Originating from out of the pack, Shi shi has always been more to herself then anything. She had managed to find her way to the pack after she had been chased away from her own pack not far from the age of puphood. When she does converse with the other wolves, it is usually the sick that she is attending to. She is usually more to back out of a fight when she is challenged, this is due to a dark past that she has yet to speak of to any in the pack who had gladly taken her in, during her ailments of three years past. Now gaining on the age of 5 winters. She had gained a off white cream color, whilst her eyes were a sharp blue of color. When she was not attending to the wounded or the birthing mothers, she could usually be found in the cool trees near the water, seemingly keeping an eye on everyone around. Mate: N/A Pups: N/A --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Name: Liddy Race: Wolf Gender: Female Job: Alpha Female Description: Liddy is a soft leader, she will take charge when she needs something done but will generally go with the flow and is very soft spoken. Thinks things through carefully before taking action. She has soft gray eyes and a dark, dark brown coat and in the right light it looks black. She is rather young considering her position in the pack but she is an adult and is the mother of the pups, and acts as such when Loba isn't watching over them. She'll tag along with the hunts but usually stays at the den staying with Cal. Mate: Cal Pups: All -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Name: Cal Race: Wolf Gender:Male Job:Alpha Male Description: Cal is in charge. He makes sure everything is running smoothly, but from the confines of his den. He doesn't go hunting anymore, mostly sleeps and lays around. Because of his old age he stays inside most days, small walks his only action outside. He can be rather short tempered and harsh at times but it's always for the best. He had a light tan/brown coat as a younger wolf, but now it is mostly consisting of gray and white from age. He has deep brown eyes, but can't see as well as he used to. Mate: Liddy Pups: All

Let us begin shall we? Hopefully we can attract some interest and spark something in this guild.
Kyo yawned and walked out of the den, the smell of freshly dug dirt making him sneeze as he softly padded out into the bright sunlight. Dust motes flew into the air as he shook himself awake and strolled down to the river for a drink of the cool water.

Loba yawned deeply as the morning had come she was still very tired. However as the pups squeeked and whined their way out, she snapped at one of them with a jerk of her head and a growl. It was too early to play catch Nana Loba's tail. They got the message and went off rolling down the grassy hill with occational yips and yelps as they tackled one another frolicing, as practice for future hunts and battles. Loba rested her head on her crossed paws and watched them from her boulder which was slowly warming as the sun rose from its bed.

Kyo finished his drink at the river, taking care enough to attract the attention of a fish swimming nearby. He darted his head into the water and came back out with it, settling down on the ground to eat the breakfest.

Loba picked up her head, with a slight grumble, she got up and leaped down from her boulder. She trotted down the green slope and called the pups.
One of the pups complained about her alway breaking the fun, she glared at him and told him if we wanted to be a lazy pup and prefer to never participate in a hunt then it was fine with her. The pup embarrassed followed her.
"So where are we going?"
"Today, you will see how to catch fish."
"Down by the river? OH BOY! Di cha 'ear that?! DOWN BY THE RIVER!"
She lead them near the river and right before it sloped down, she stood there on top looking down on another wolf.
"Eating breakfast alone again?" She asked. The pups were running to catch up to Loba and one stopped abruptly the others skitted on the wet grass and they flew off the edge and all landed in a soft patch of grass, mud and water. They giggled with their little adventure. Loba hopped down and walked to Kyo and sat down beside him, even though he was eating. "Today you will learn how to catch a tasty snack or meal from this river." She got up and stode a little away with her head cocked and ears perked, "From the best." She said. The pups drew nearer and seated themselves to listen. She stepped behind then and lowered her head, nuzzling one of the pups. " Make sure you give Kyo you undivided attention." She finished with one of her 'have fun,dear' smiles at Kyo. She raised her head and waiting for Kyo's response.
"....Loba....you said you were going to teach us how to fish!" whined one.
"I never said me. I said 'Today, you will see how to catch fish'. Don't whine."

A young elk was prancing through the forest near a waterfall and stopped for some foliage from a near-by bush. Yellow eyes spied on it from underneath the bush as the elk neared the bush. 'Three steps, two steps, one step...NOW!' A wolf lunged from the bushed and started his assault on the elk. As it thrashed around a bit, the wolf clamped his jaw on it's neck as hard as possible. In seconds, the elk fell.
Arch sighed, knowing the easy part was done, now how to get it up the waterfall for the protectors and Nannies. He sighed again thinking of Kyo, for he knew that the black wolf hated his breakfast late. Arch grabbed his new kill and started to haul it up the high waterfall.
Within an hour and a half, he brought the elk to the feeding area where he saw Kyo and Loba, two well known wolves of the pack. He set the elk in front of them, "Hey you two what's been going on?"

"hmmm.."As her voice rumbled in deep in her throat, it almost sounded like a purr. She turned and caught sight of Arch, " Good morning Arch, up early as usual." She greeted him formally. "Nothing is really happening."
Two of the pups leaped up and ran over to Arch.
"WHAO!!! What a big one!! Did you get all by yourself?"
"Awesome awesome! Arch you da man!"
The third pup Luna was watching cocked his head back a little and in his little voice said, " Kyo's gonna teach us how to fish." he said simply.
The other two, jumped about excitedly, "Yea!! WE CAN'T WAIT!"
"BOTA! COTA! Stop hovering around Arch's feet!" they ran back. "honestly, you two were trouble from the start. Had to be at the same time....unusual, but just you two." They gave her a sheepish smile. And nipped at her as a sign of apology and affection. She nipped back.
Bota spoke first, "but Kyo, doesn't look like he agrees with you."
"Bota, he ALWAY's looks like THAT." chimes Cota.
