I've just recently picked up the flute, and I still haven't bought any songbook, but I'm thinking of buying The Phantom of the Opera's flute solo songbook. I read it is good for beginners, and I *love* the musics.
But aside from that one, I was looking for some good flute solos which focus on the flute's lower register. I simply love those rich, mellow notes, but I can't seem to find any music sheets on the net which have them in a decent portion. If anyone could find me some music sheets like that, or at least some names, I would really appreciate. smile
Thanks in advance for any help!

ask your teacher for apropriate music. Since you just started, I'd focus on etudes and scales. You should get Rubank Elementary Method for flute. I know it will be boring at first or altogether but in the long run it will make you a better musician. you start out with the elementary method and then move on to internediate and then to advanced. I didnt know about the books until I purchased the advanced one but they really do make you a better musician over all. If you arent already, take private lessons. Your teacher will be able to make you a better flute player and then you will be able to have more song books to choose from until they become too easy for you.
