Background: (info from http://www.hp-lexicon.org/wizards/draco.html )
Draco Malfoy is the son and only child of Lucius and Narcissa Malfoy and is currently attending Hogwarts. He is a rival of Harry Potter, actively trying to undermine him in any way he can. Draco has white-blond hair and a pale, pointed face. He owns an eagle owl who makes almost daily deliveries of sweets from home. Draco, after his father made a generous donation of Nimbus 2001 brooms to the team, has become the Slytherin Quidditch Seeker. (CS)

Draco met Harry Potter for the first time at Madam Malkin's robe shop in Diagon Alley on July 31, 1991. Draco confided to Harry that he was planning on bullying his parents into buying him things he wanted, which reminded Harry strongly of his cousin Dudley. When Draco saw Hagrid through the window of the shop, Draco spoke disparagingly of him:

"I've heard of him. He's a sort of servant, isn't he? ... I heard he's a sort of savage -- lives in a hut on the school grounds and every now and then he gets drunk, tries to do magic, and ends up setting fire to his bed." (PS5)
This attitude about other people put Harry off considerably. Those comments were followed by another intolerant speech about witches or wizards born of Muggle families:
"I really don't think they should let the other sort in, do you? They're just not the same, they've never been brought up to know our ways. Some of them have never even heard of Hogwarts until they get the letter, imagine. I think they should keep it in the old wizarding families." (PS5)
Aboard the Hogwarts Express, once he'd heard who Harry was, Draco introduced himself to Harry and suggested that Harry would be better served being friends with Draco than with Ron Weasley, whose family he obviously despised:
"My father told me all the Weasleys have red hair, freckles, and more children than they can afford... You'll soon find out some wizarding families are much better than others, Potter. You don't want to go making friends with the wrong sort. I can help you there." (PS6)
He then held out his hand to shake Harry's, but Harry didn't take it, instead responding, "I think I can tell who the wrong sort are for myself, thanks." These two events set the stage for a rivalry between the two boys which continues through every school year.

Draco is seldom seen without his two friends, Crabbe and Goyle, who are much larger than he and function as bodyguards. Their relationship is not a friendship between equals. Draco is clearly the leader and he seems to look down on the other boys as being ignorant and slow (which is true). They serve his purposes, however, and they give Draco a sounding board for his virulent speeches against Potter, Hermione Granger, and the Weasleys. He also employs them to do his dirty work on occasion.

Draco is constantly frustrated by the attention given to Harry. His father cautioned Draco that it is not prudent to seem to be an enemy of Potter, who everyone in the wizarding world considers to be a hero, but Draco finds it impossible to be friendly with Harry. Especially galling to Draco is that fact that Muggle-born Hermione Granger outperforms Draco in lessons and Harry outflies him in Quidditch. The teachers seem to give Potter a lot of leeway when it comes to rule-breaking. To top it all off, Harry is a celebrity whose picture appears in the Daily Prophet and who is treated in a familar, friendly way by the Minister of Magic himself (at least he was, until the summer of 1995).

Draco is something of a whiner, or at least he is not above using a relatively minor injury to his own advantage. When a hippogriff slashed his arm in the fall of 1993, Draco used this as an excuse to skip a week's worth of lessons, to force other students to do his work for him, and to avoid having to play a tough Quidditch match in unfavorable weather. He is also not above using offensive or hurtful language to others, including the term "Mudblood" which is highly offensive.

It is difficult to determine Draco's relationship with his parents. He is certainly spoiled, judging by the way he bullied Lucius, his father, into buying him a racing broom and by the large amounts of sweets and other gifts he receives from home on an almost daily basis. His mother does care about him, enough anyway to nix the idea of his traveling far away to attend Durmstrang instead of Hogwarts, and she was frantic when she found out that Voldemort had a special plan in mind using Draco. At the Quidditch World Cup, Draco was treated to a seat in the Top Box by his parents. His father is a Death Eater, and apparently high up in Voldemort's ranks, and he councils and cautions his son in how to appear respectable in Hogwarts society but also how to advance the cause against Dumbledore. Lucius sends Draco press clippings which could prove useful in embarrassing or harrassing Potter or the Weasleys. Lucius advised Draco, when the Chamber of Secrets had been opened in 1992-3, to keep a low profile and let the Heir of Slytherin get on with it.

He is a good student, although he wishes that Hogwarts actually taught how to perform Dark Magic, not just defend against it. He is a very capable Quidditch Seeker.

The 1996 imprisonment of Draco's father had a profound effect on his life. His father's failure to obtain the Prophecy from the Department of Mysteries infuriated Voldemort. Unfortunately for Draco, Voldemort's attention turned to Lucius' only son. Sometime after his 16th birthday, Voldemort gives Draco an assignment that no adult had been able to achieve: circumvent Hogwarts' security, and the murder of Albus Dumbledore.

Draco initially appeared proud and cocky, but his mother secretly went to Snape and pleaded with him to protect Draco -- and to "carry out the deed that the Dark Lord has ordered Draco to perform" if it seems that Draco will fail (HBP).

Later, we know that Draco was so frightened and isolated that he even sought solace from Moaning Myrtle (HBP21). Even Harry notices a difference: Draco is losing weight, paler and has dark circles under his eyes (HBP22). As Jo later said in an interview, "having talked the talk [Draco is] asked to walk it for the first time and it is absolutely terrifying." (TLC)

For Draco, the stakes were impossibly high: Voldemort would have his whole family killed if Draco failed (HBP). Even knowing that, Draco was unable to kill the Headmaster (HBP). Harry believes that Draco is a Death Eater, but this has not been confirmed.

The following was added/written by me

When Voldemort decided to use Malfoy Manor as his new base of operations, it becomes quite clear that Draco is hardly a Death Eater. Though Voldemort forces Draco to perform the Cruciatus Curse and to do his bidding, Draco appears frightened throughout the final novel (DH).

In fact, even when the trio was brought to the Manor by Fenrir, Draco did not give them up as being Harry, Ron, and Hermione. He refused to answer beyond a few simple, "I can't be sure," or "I don't know," or "I... maybe... yeah." or even "Yeah, it could be." (DH, pages 458-459).

He doesn't gloat or be cruel toward Harry during their captivity in the manor. In fact, Draco rarely says anything at all, preferring to remain out of the way it seems.

Later, during the war at Hogwarts, Draco, along with Crabbe and Goyle, corner Harry in the Room of Requirement. A fight ensues, but during it Crabbe unleashed uncontrollable fiendfire. If it had not been for Harry, who rode down on a borrowed broom through the flames, then Draco would have died on the spot.

We see Draco trying to find his parents and make his way out of Hogwarts after that, but he continually gets cut off by Death Eaters who believe him to be a part of the Hogwarts army. Luckily for him, Ron punched him, stunning Draco enough to keep him out of the immediate battle.

Once everything is over and Voldemort was defeated, Draco was reunited with his parents (both of whom did not fight at all during the battle but spent their time looking for their son) in Hogwarts' Great Hall.

Organizations & affiliations: Death Eater; donates to St. Mungo's; on the Governing Board of Hogwarts until 1993, influence in the Department for Disposal of Dangerous Creatures.
Career: Does not appear to have paid employment.
Background: (information from http://www.hp-lexicon.org/wizards/lucius.html )
Lucius was a Death Eater during Voldemort's first "reign of terror," however after he disappeared, Malfoy "came back saying he'd never meant any of it" (CS3). Arthur Weasley reportedly believes that Malfoy was in Voldemort's "inner circle" (CS3).

Lucius revived his old allegiances when Voldemort rose to power once again (GF). He had a variety of illegal poisons, Dark Arts objects and artifacts hidden in his mansion, some in a secret chamber under the dining room floor (CS4). He remained staunchly against admitting non-pure-blood witches and wizards into Hogwarts and he used his influence (and money) to try to force changes there.

He considered Dumbledore to be a very poor headmaster and even succeeded in getting him temporarily removed from that position (CS14).

The Malfoys had a house-elf named Dobby who was "bound to serve one house and one family forever" (CS2) until Harry tricked Lucius into releasing him (CS1 cool .

Lucius Malfoy has used his position in the wizarding community and well-placed donations and contributions to gain considerable power in the current Ministry of Magic. When Fudge was minister, he acquiesced to Lucius, impressed with the "purity" of his wizarding blood and sizable sums of Galleons he donated.

After retaking his place as a Death Eater on June 24, 1995, Lucius participated in the attack on Harry in the graveyard of Little Hangleton. When that didn't go as planned but Harry wasn't believed, he resumed his privileged position with respect to the Ministry, especially influencing Fudge (OP9).

And "influencing" Broderick Bode too. For someone who claimed to Ministry officials that he had been under the Imperius Curse during Voldemort's first rise to power, it is interesting that Malfoy was the Death Eater who tried to Imperius Broderick Bode into retrieving the Prophecy for Lord Voldemort (OP26).

Lucius lead the Death Eaters in the battle in the Department of Mysteries, but failed to obtain the prophecy. He was captured and has been sent to Azkaban (OP3 cool . After Lucius' arrest, the Malfoy mansion was raided twice by Ministry personnel; Mr. Weasley is confident that all Malfoy "Dark" objects were found (HBP7, HBP11). Reportedly, Malfoy's failure at the Department of Mysteries infuriated Voldemort, so he developed a plan to use Lucius' only son to kill Dumbledore (HBP2). Harry comes to believe that even though he is only 16, Draco was made a Death Eater to replace his father (HBP7).

The following was written/added by me.

However, after Dumbledore's death there seems to have been another breakout of Azkaban by Voldemort's forces and Lucius Malfoy soon found himself back at home.

It does not appear that Lucius was very glad about the events in the final book (DH) because he grudginly turns his wand over for Voldemort's use, as well as the Dark Lord using Malfoy Manor as his base of operations.

He becomes quite excited by the idea of redemption in Voldemort's eyes however, when Fenrir brings Harry, Ron, and Hermione to the manor for a reward. However, due to some quick thinking by Harry, and some interferences by Dobby the House Elf, the trio escaped.

Later, it becomes obvious that Voldemort was quite angry about this and he imprisoned and beat Lucius in the Manor until we finally see him again during the Hogwarts Battle.

By this point, Lucius could care less what the Dark Lord wants and, as soon as he is able, he and Narcissa (both without wands may I add) rush through Hogwarts and the surrounding area, looking for any sign of Draco.

In the end of Deathly Hallows, the Malfoy family is reunited and together in one of the corners of Hogwart's Great Hall.

Please see my "Lucius Theory" for more information reguarding a side of Lucius not seen until the final book.

Weasley's Wizard Wheezes:
For a full list, please go here ( http://www.hp-lexicon.org/wizworld/wheezes.html )

Background:
(from Wikipedia.com here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fred_Weasley )

Fred and George are the identical twin sons of Arthur and Molly Weasley, the younger brothers of Bill, Charlie and Percy, and the older brothers of Ron and Ginny, who are both members of Harry Potter's close group of friends. The twins revel in practical jokes and pranks and are generally considered amusing by both the books' characters and readers. Fittingly, they were born on April Fools Day - April 1, 1978.

While their best friend is Lee Jordan — their classmate, dormmate and fellow prankster — the twins are also good friends with Harry, having played Quidditch with him for Gryffindor. In fact, they generally treat Harry better than they do Ron; they love to torment Ron and Percy (although the tormenting of Ron is a lot more benign) but are close with Ginny (who closely resembles them both in appearance and personality) and vice versa. Like the other Weasleys, they have flaming red hair. They seem to be quite popular among the Gryffindors, as well as with students in other Houses and with some teachers.

Fred (April 1, 1978 - June 199 cool and George (born April 1, 197 cool attended Hogwarts from 1989 to around springtime of the 1996 school year. They were the school clowns and troublemakers, more interested in inventing new pranks than studying, although they show a high degree of knowledge and skill in creating magical jokes and tricks. They are among the most popular characters with fans, and many of their jokes and pranks are legendary, both in the novels and in the real world. Fred, at times, appears to be the more dominant twin, but they generally work as a team. Both were the Beaters on the Gryffindor Quidditch team — and were very talented players — before they were banned by Dolores Umbridge and consequently quit Hogwarts.

They now own a joke shop in Diagon Alley. Fred and George care little for Prefects or rules. Their appearances and personalities are so indistinguishable that they can fool even their mother. Fred appears slightly more aggressive/take-charge than George, which is most apparent in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire where George is more cautious about blackmailing Ludo Bagman and, unlike Fred, is not mentioned as having a date at the Yule Ball. In Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Fred's date was Angelina Johnson. Fred is also seen to speak a lot more often than George.

In Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Fred and George begin selling their own jokes by mail order, under the name "Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes." They play a prank on Harry's first cousin, the fat, bullying Dudley Dursley by "accidentally" dropping a Ton Tongue Toffee — Dudley, a glutton on a forced diet, soon has a four-foot-long tongue protruding from his mouth. At the Quidditch World Cup they impress Ludo Bagman, Head of the Department of Magical Games and Sports at the Ministry of Magic, with their fake wands.

Their ambition in life has always been to run their own joke shop. Harry (who inherited more than enough money for his needs) makes this possible by giving them his winnings from the Triwizard Tournament.

The pair provide Harry with useful assistance throughout the series; in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets they and Ron help him escape his house arrest at Privet Drive, in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban they give him the Marauder's Map, and in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix they provide distractions so Harry can use the Floo system that is unmonitored in Dolores Umbridge's office. They were also members of Dumbledore's Army, a group started by Harry, Ron, and Hermione to teach practical instruction in Defence Against the Dark Arts, which Umbridge had removed from that course's curriculum.

Later that year, they are banned from Quidditch and decide to abandon formal education; they do not, however, leave before paying tribute to Dumbledore by waging a virtual war against the dictatorial Dolores Umbridge. Threatened with flogging for conjuring a "portable swamp" in a corridor, they depart on broomsticks, yelling to Peeves in the process, "Give her hell from us, Peeves." This is perhaps the only time in school history that Peeves does what a student tells him to do - saluting the twins, he proceeds to cause weeks of havoc, throwing the school into chaos (with the aid of students and some teachers) and generally making life miserable for Umbridge.

As they leave, the twins inform their fellow students of their new shop in Diagon Alley and offer discounts to students who will likewise harass Umbridge. The swamp, meanwhile, remains for some time, since Umbridge is unable to remove it and no other teacher particularly wishes to. After Professor Umbridge is driven from the school, Professor Flitwick removes it, but leaves a small bit as a tribute to the Weasley twins.

It is implied by several characters, including Professor Flitwick and Hermione Granger, that despite their poor grades and meager number of O.W.L.s, the Weasley twins are extremely proficient wizards, capable of sophisticated magic (such as spells for high-quality daydreams). This is evidenced by the large number of inventions they have created and by Fred's ability to transform Ron's teddy bear into a spider even before he had gone to and was old enough to attend Hogwarts.

In The Half-Blood Prince, Fred and George continue to run their very successful joke shop out of Diagon Alley, with at least one employee. At the beginning of the school year, they have a large advertisement for a potion called "U-No-Poo," poking fun at the common euphemism of Lord Voldemort in the wizarding community. Their import item, Peruvian Instant Darkness Powder, plays a negative role in the Battle of Hogwarts in that book, when it is used by Draco Malfoy to escape the detection of former DA members. It is unclear if Fred and George have joined the Order of the Phoenix like they wished during the previous book, although their absence from the battle at Hogwarts suggests they have not. Their wares have twice been indirectly responsible for injuries suffered by their siblings: their Peruvian Darkness Powder allowed the werewolf Fenrir Greyback into Hogwarts, where he proceeded to savage Bill Weasley; and a love potion sold by them was ingested by Ron Weasley, requiring him to seek an antidote from the Potions Master, Professor Slughorn — who then accidentally poisoned him.

Though Mrs. Weasley initially disapproved of their enterprises, she realised they had a natural gift and passion for their business and has since raised no objections. In fact, she is now rather impressed with how successful the twins have become since leaving school. According to their proud younger brother Ron, "they're raking in the Galleons!"

Though they always seem to be berating and insulting their younger brother Ron, it seems that they are sometimes considerate to him. This is evident in Order of the Phoenix when they make an effort to not mock Ron for his poor performance at Quidditch, although they do nothing to support or encourage him either. However, in The Half-Blood Prince, they are visibly distressed when Ron is poisoned. This occurs on Ron's birthday, and the twins have arrived at school to surprise him, carrying enormous presents from their shop.

In Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, every member of the Weasley family is being watched by the Ministry of Magic (now lead by Death Eaters). It is impossible for Fred and George to return to their shop in Diagon Alley to sell their products, so they begin to run another mail-order business out of their Auntie Muriel's house.

In Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Fred and George are members of the Order of the Phoenix and serve as two of Harry's six decoys when he escapes Privet Drive. George loses one of his ears when Snape's curse misfires. During the final battle, George, along with Lee Jordan, defeats Yaxley. Later on, Fred is killed by Death Eaters in the battle at Hogwarts near the end of the book, along with Remus Lupin, Nymphadora Tonks, and Colin Creevey. He died during The Battle of Hogwarts from an explosion of unknown sources. Percy cradled Fred's body, which is described with laughter on his face as he was laughing with glee at Percy making a joke, protecting it from further harm. Fred was the only member of the Weasley family who died, though his death most likely helped to cement Percy's return to the family and played a factor in his mother's duel with Bellatrix Lestrange. It is also important to note that Fred's death acts to galvanize Harry's actions in the end of the battle, because, of all the deaths in the book, Fred's is the only one described (from Harry's perspective) as "impossible" and earth shattering.
