I recently got back into the mood for Gaia Fishing (wish I could say the same for writing...), and I was wondering, who here is good at Fishing?

I'll admit, I used to suck horribly at it, and the fact that I was using a laptop didn't really help. Shamefully, I gave up after only a few tries, which is probably because the Basic Rod sucked (it still does, too). Now, though, I can tackle Durem easily. Hell, I could probably make a good 2k gold each day from Fishing alone, and this is using a ******** laptop's touch pad. It's hard as hell to get used to one of those things.

Anyways, in my opinion, the phrase "you've gotta spend money to make it" applies to this Gaia Game, since the better the rod you can afford, the better a fisher you'll inevitably become. I immediately noticed a severe drop in difficulty for Bass'ken Lake and Port of Gambino when I upgraded to a Strength Rod Plus, leaving my Basic Rod and Strength Rod behind; best decision of my Gaia life.

So enough rambling...

Discuss:

- Gaia Fishing in general
- Recommended rods
- Recommended bait
- Prime fishing lakes
- Advice for new fishers
- Anything else related to the Fishing game

(And if anyone wants to go fishing with me, just drop me a PM anytime wink ).

Strength Rod. In terms of movement distribution (the two red lines that allow the fish to stay on the line), it's obviously the superior choice. Why? The farther out in the background that your line is cast, the more movement space the fish has. For the Strength Rod, it may appear that the end and middle of the line are the same, and that the only real width to it is the beginning (the part closest to you), because they're the same distance apart on the screen. But the fact is, the end of the line has the same amount of movement space as the start of it.

In short: the beginning and end may appear to have different widths, but are actually the same. Thus, you may think of the movement distribution as an actual representation of the Performance Rod.

(If that was too confusing, just ******** whatever I said and buy the Strength Rod).
