A new element to the series is the use of the Download Play functionality of the Nintendo DS to allow four people to play wirelessly using only one cartridge. A scan of a Nintendo booklet also shows the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection logo on a page concerning Mario Party DS, hinting at some sort of online functionality.
