This is a survival guide for anyone who has never been to a convention before. Here I have compiled my research data and experts interviews on many of the various topics like How to escape a horde of screaming fangirls when I cosplay and How to fight boredom in long and slow preregistation lines.

Don't treat your friends to IHOP and let them ruin your night... evil

Always be sure to eat something every day. Pop tarts in the morning do not make a good long day meal.

Be sure you always know your room key is, unless you want to be sitting outside your room praying one of your roomates will show up.

Always keep your door closed. You never know what might crawl in. Like a camera crew for starters. xd

ok people here is something you should have during Anime Expo

Registration line necessities-

1) Friends... cause if you have none you will get bored
& for Pete sake make friends when in the line

2) Food & Drinks.... you may never know if the line will be an hour
or even seven frickin hours!!!

3) Entertaintment - any portable electronic device (Laptop, PSP , Video Cam Etc)
those really comes handy if you dont have anything like that a deck
of playing cards will do.

Things you should have during the 4 Days of AX (5 for me cause I come a day
early)

1) Money & food - if you dont have none you are doomed!!!!!

2) A place to sleep - Now if you are staying for more than a day this
is a requirement whether its a hotel room, your house or a friends
place. Now if you have a hotel room dont forget your keys

3) Clothing - same as number 2 if your staying for more than a day
you need to change clothes you may never know when you dirty
yourself

4) Your AX Badge - now your probably wondering why I put this well
too many people tend to forget thier badges in thier rooms so
before leaving room check if you have it on your person.

well this what I can think for now

Sorceress Lixing's and Sweet Anatta's guide to Anime Expo and Cosplaying:

AX this year was my first time to go to AX and first time cosplaying and during that time I have learned alot. So I hope that you guys learn too.

1.) If you live in San Diego...drive the night before AX so you can have breakfast xd

2.) when cosplaying at all. MUST WAKE UP EARLY so you can get ready and all that good stuff.

3.) when cosplaying, always have someone to carry your stuff and make sure to watch out for them when you stop to pose around for photos

4.) ALWAYS HAVE A BACK-UP COSPLAYER. This actually happened, our Gaara got a hangover and couldnt be gaara, luckilly we have a replacement ^_^. (and he was better. he actually SHAVED his eyebrows)

5.) when cosplaying and when you stop to take a pose for the ever prepared camera man, drop your stuff and keep it away from the camera but keep it infront of you so you can keep an eye on it.

6.) when cosplaying make sure badges are behind you or isnt visible during posing. It ruins the whole effect. But i wouldnt suggest leaving it with your stuff. Pin it behind you or leave it with a friend together with your valuable stuff

7.) Make sure you actually have your badge never leave the hotel without double checking

8.) always bring emergency sewing kit. Which includes; thread (one that will match all the cloth you used for your cosplay), needles, safety pins, glue gun and etc.

9.) Make sure to bring everything you need. everything

10.) always carry food and drink with you. You usually dont want to spend anymore money on food.

11.) when desperate for food, dont even try to ask someone out XD it doesnt work. you'll only get yourself in trouble. Trust me. (courtesy of SL)

12.) always bring pen and paper, you never know when your gonna need it.

13.) camera. batteries. film.

14.) always bring an ATM/credit card and especially cash

15.) wake up early to get into registration. pre-reg. isnt always the fastest one wink

16.) try to put make up on, even blush/foundation or etc. to help cover up acne and etc.

17.) Don't be rude XD

Don't wait until the morning of to finish up your cosplay.

Bring extra shoes if you're going to wear heels.

If you hear someone squeel the name of the character that you're cosplaying as and you hear thundering footsteps, then RUN AWAY! RUN VERY FAR AWAY!

or prepare to stop/deal with fangirls/boys. Yes. I had this happen to me. Usually you should prepare to stop when someone is calling out your characters name. No one likes to chase around cosplayers they want a photo of wink
