I have my ears pierced, just the normal piercing that almost everyone has. But, for the past 5 years I haven't been able to wear earrings. Everytime I do my ears turn red, they ache, and sometimes I get sticky gook on the earrings. I've tried cheap earrings, expensive/gold ones, hypoallergenic earrings, etc. It seems that I can't wear any of them, which sucks because I really love earrings. It's probably one of the simplest piercings a person can have, and I can't even enjoy it. Is there something I can do about this? Any suggestions or tips?

I had this problem when I as younger. I actually took mine out for a few years. Now I wear surgical steel in mine, and they never give me problems. I think I am sensitive to nickel, which is in a lot of metal. So try surgical steel or titanium.

Thanks for replying! Can I get these kinda earrings anywhere? I live in a small town, so I'd probably have to go into a city to find them, I'm guessing.

I would suggest going bodyartfurms.com and buying from them. They have a good selection at a reasonable price and cheap shipping on jewelry. I usually get my jewelry from them because most places jack up the price and sell crap quality jewelry.

try putting clear nail varnish on earings to end all contact with skin biggrin (let them dry first obviously)
