Attire: Juliart may not be a lady, but her dress is feminine. She wears a blue and black frilled shirt with a black laced corset to give her thick frame more curvature. Under this is a blue belt with a golden cross buckle and a red skirt the same shade as the red bandana tied around her head. Her left leg is wrapped with gauze and has a dagger belted to her thigh, and she wears heavy brown and black boots that are weighted with metal in the soles. A gray knee brace sits on her right knee. She also has her hands gauzed and wears brown gloves that have metal bands around her wrists and metal plates on the back of her hands, perfect for that extra kick to a punch, if you know what I mean. She's not much for jewlery, well, wearing it anyway, and only sports gold hoop earring. An unusual marking on her left eye is a black spiral tattoo.
Talents: Hand to Hand combat and strength. Prides herself in the ability for hard work and has a knack for senseing shifts in the weather and other people's emotions.
Weapon Of Choice: Metal plated gloves and weighted boots to increase damage of punches and kicks. Found a knack for guns and saves the weighted boots for on land.
Favorite Colors: Blues and Greens
Favorite Foods: Her mother's cooking.
Favorite Weather: Sunny and partly cloudy, with a good strong breeze to cool you down.
Favorite Animal: Dogs, and not those yippy yappy things either. Medium to large sized dogs are the best.
Favorite Place: Well, haven't been many places, but definately the sea and the shore, especially at dawn and dusk.
Favorite Saying: A coward dies a thousand deaths, while a brave man dies only once.
Superstitions: Walking in the rain brings good luck. Tieing a knot in a handkerchief wards off evil.
Dislikes: Those who pick on others weaker than they are or steal something that another has worked hard for.
Respects: Hard workers, brave souls, and the power of the sea and the unknown.
Juliart
Born on a small town in the outskirts of a trading town, Juliart has very humble begginings. As an only child, a girl born to parents who desired a boy, Juli was always a tomboy. She did her best to fulfill her parent's wishes to have a boy, but knew she was never good enough, despite what they said. She worked hard on the farm, helping care for the animals, tend the feilds, and occasionally with the house. She learned the value of a dollar, the pains of rationing food and near starvations in the winter times, and the wonderful feeling after a day of hard work.
When she was a bit older, she would travel to town and worked at the tavern there to earn a few extra dollars for her parents. It was there that she learned how to act a woman, at least somewhat, and heard the tales of foreign lands and the sea that sparked her unquenchable wanderlust. She dreamed of adventures on the high seas, of pirates and mermaids, but then one fall survivors of a pirate raided town stumbled into their midst, and she learned that pirates are ruthless killers and theives, and grew to hate them.
Juliart grew tired of life on the farm, and spoke to her parents about her desire to leave and see the world as a sailor. Both of her parents were furious, but she was determined. Eventually, after much fighting from her father, and tears from her mother, Juliart packed up and left. As she walked out the door, she had a huge fight with her father, who said she was never allowed to step foot back in the door if she left. Without turning, Juliart set off for Tortuga, to see what her future had in store for her out on the open seas.
She met Captain Tracey Tans in Tortuga and was offered a job as a deckhand. Then the waitress from the Inn was captured by bandits and the she set out with her new Captain to rescue her, learning a little more about her new captain and what it meant to be a sailor. After Tracey got news of the mysterious red-eyed man that he was asking about, they set sail and Juli met Jerred, the first mate of the ship The Dragon Slayer. Unfortunatly, a storm blew them off course, and they became lost at sea.
As she learns to be a sailor, Juliart also learns about her quiet new captain who seems to have a troubled past. She has much to learn, and the storm clouds are rolling in.
The days lost at sea became rough as The Dragon Slayer ran out of provisions, the crew beggan to starve by the time they ran aground on the Selkie Island, which, Juliart found out from her Captain was the same island that he had crashed into long ago with the red eyed man and lost his arm. Unfortunately, their arrival was not very well recieved by the beautiful natives because the starving sailors attacked one of the seal women without knowing what she was, and to make up for it had to clean the waters by the shore of the polution from human ships.
On the island, Juli came to realize that she had a developing crush on her Captain, and spoke with the first mate Jerred about her worries, deciding to pursue the quiet one armed man, though she would have to try and keep it a secret.
After a dinner and Juliart was recognized by the Selikie Queen and given a shell for her hair, the crew left with new provisions and set sail for Tortuga. Juliart returned to the ship in an irrtated mood, her empathetic powers picking up on Tracey's negative aura. So she went to him to try and make him feel better, and, after failing at words and resorting to just brushing out his hair, she heard the tragic tale of his past, and professed her love for him. The two shared their first kiss, not knowing that Jerred was watching through a knothole in the wall from his room.
But the happy times didn't last long when a stow-a-way was discovered on board, a mute mucisian. Juliart lost herself to having fun when she was on watch and sung along with the music, only to have Jerred discover and grow very angry and disappointed with her. She was sent, broken hearted, to her cabin while Jerred and Tracey argued. After the first mate was sent to his cabin for his outbreak, the Captain had to issue his punishment for Juli while he resisted comforting her.
On the first watch of her punishment, accompanied by Jerred, she was feeling really miserable. But then a pod of mating whales swam around the ship, one hitting the side, throwing the captain to the floor and knocking him out, while Juli was hurled overboard.
