In my personal opinion, Shikamaru belongs with Temari. In the series, many many times, they are seen with each other, inculding showing up together during their premire in Shippuden. Oh, and he is always complaining that she is a "troublesome woman" The same type that his dad stated that Nara members end up with.

Exact same reason as you said. Not to mention what Shikamaru's dad (Shikaku) said to him about how women are tender to the man she loves.
And although Temari is rash and violent, she can be rather kind and gentle (though she teases him a lot) to Shikamaru. :3

Is this in asking who I want him to be with or is it asking who do I think he will end up with.
To not waste a post I will answer both questions.
I would like to see him end up with Ino as I think the two actually compliment each other.
However I think he will end up with Temari, purely because they are seen more together, and they havent really shown his realtionship with Ino at all during the series, so its kind of like proccess of elimination.

I see what you are saying about Temari, and I slightly agree with the Ino thing, but I must point out that if him and Ino got together that it would ruin the InoShikaCho combination. The combination shouldn't come from the same parents. {and I apologize for not specifing, I think the question could respond to both, though.}

Well, if he ended up with Ino (which I support), how would that ruin the ShikaInoCho team? I don't think that they would quit on Cho. And I don't think that He should be with Temari, because then poor Shika would have to deal with her brother. (even though he does kick a**).

I personally think that Shikamaru is better suited to be with Temari. For a few reasons. The first is how Temari is exactly like the women that the Nara men have a knack for falling for. She's hot headed and kinda scary...Um..My second reason is they compliment each other better. Like Temari is hot headed, energetic, cocky...and Shikamaru is laid back, smart and extremely lazy. I think Temari could teach him to liven up a bit and Shikamaru could teach her the art of relaxation. Plus both of them are very tactical and they could pass the time playing Shogi? together. I don't see Ino with the same compliment to him. She seems overly vain and a little too caught up in Sasuke at the moment...although I think she ends up liking Sai...but I'm not too sure. I'd actually like to see Ino end up with Chouji but that's for a different thread.

Yeah Temari should be with him since in the series they go so good together and age is nothing but a number were assigned biggrin

Temari. They seem to already have a relationship anyway, whether its romantic or not.

I reevaluated the possibilities and I think and would like to see him with Temari, she is brilliant cool and motivates him when she is needed to. She is focused and compassionate even though she puts up an extremely determined facade. I admire her character and I think Shikamaru would really shine as a shinobi (even become Hokage before Naruto) if she was with him, if she loved him enough to do it. I think as well their mutual love for each other would have a strong economic flux in favor of the hidden leaf as she is the sister to the current Kazekage (Gaara), so it would really be a great thing over all if the two got together (though I doubt they will do it for the reason I listed, but beacuse they love each other)... Awww this almost makes me want to write a fanfiction.

Neither.
I just...have never liked the ide of Shikamaru being paired with either of them. o_O He'll probably end up with Temari, but, meh...
Personally, I think it'd be AMAZING if Kishimoto threw us a curve ball and had him end up with Shiho.

(don't get too sappy on us now xp ) I think Temari will get together with Shikamru because he needs someone assertive like Temari because if no one else has noticed the ShikaInoCho team are all turning out to be just like their parents. So since Shikamaru's mother is just like Temari he will most likely end up with Temari. I also think that Ino and Chouji will end up together
