 The Lake is located just south of Hogwarts the diameter of the cliff is about half a mile. First years will be escorted across the lake in boats with Hagrid as a special Hogwarts tradition. But be careful of the merpeople, giant squid and grindylows!

Illuminatus walked slowly around the lakeshore, the wind flaring his cloak like liquid shadow. The edges of the lake crystallized with frost as his powers briefly went out of control. He flicked his wand and froze a narrow walkway to the center of the lake, where a small round area of ice lay, glistening with icicle spikes around the exterior. He knelt in the middle, enjoying the cold and looking at the clouds, which swirled overhead as if preparing to storm.

Juliet walked outside Hogwarts castle. The tree by the lake was her favorite place to sit and rest. Erasmus had gone for a snog with his girlfriend and wouldn't pay any attention to her.
She was surprised when she saw Illuminatus.
"Illuminatus!" she cried, walking over slowly to the lake.

Lily walked along the lake, the cool breeze fluttering through her fiery red hair. Her arms where crossed and she rubbed her hands along her goose bums caused by the cool fall air. She looked up in her path to see Illuminatus kneeling down. Lily sat next to him feeling a bit odd. Although she was his teacher and his headmistress she was less than a year his senior. "Nice night isn't it?" She commented running her fingers along the freezing cold water.

"In a manner of speaking." Illuminatus settled for a cryptic and curt response. The headmistress's condescending tone in the chamber had irritated him, but he reminded himself that there was no point in showing his true power if he was to remain incognito. But he did feel bad- she was only trying to be friendly now. The emotion proved too much for him, and the ice shattered, so he deftly leaped from floe to floe until he was back to shore. "Hello Juliet. I take it Erasmus is off for a bit of, well, it's hard to call what he does kissing... I caught them in the corridor. He looks like he's biting her face. Anyway, I had to duck a couple of Fernunculus hexes before arriving here- he wasn't to chuffed with me." He smiled, something he didn't do often. He walked beside her, cloak rippling in the icy wind that was getting stronger by the minute.

Juliet froze as he walked towards her. She was certain her hair was brightest shade of even, possibly brighter than her hair.
"Hello?" She could barely the words out she was so embarrassed.

Illuminatus saw her blushing and laughed. "One day soon you'll be doing the same thing Erasmus and his girl are doing. Though hopefully with considerably less saliva," he added. The clouds were getting blacker, and soon, scattered snowflakes began to fall. "Awesome. It's snowing!!!" Esrath was around his shoulders, and deftly snapped snowflakes from the air as they began to fall more heavily. The temperature was dropping rapidly, and Illuminatus estimated it at 20 degrees Fahrenheit. Esrath slid under his cloak for warmth.

"Highly doubt it, no boy would come near me with Erasmus around." She wrapped her large cloak tighter over hear. It was cold outside, the air blowing her hair in the wind.

Lily frowned as Illuminatus ignored her and fled. She stood as the snow fell on her fiery hair. I may be only 16 but I'm still his headmistress you'd think he'd have a bit more respect, perhaps actually obey me. I oviously know what I'm doing around here or I wouldn't have graduated Hogwarts at fourteen. She sighed trudging along the lake as the snow fell.

As the temperature dropped further, Illuminatus took off his own heavy cloak and wrapped it around her. She was suddenly filled with a fiery warmth as the cloak seemed to conform to her- though much too big, the cloak was not at all uncomfortable. Illuminatus's short dark hair rippled in the wind as his Hogwarts robes flapped. He then smiled coyly, and said to Juliet, "Did you know I'm only a muggleborn? I think that's quite an interesting attribute for a Slytherin, but I think it strengthens one, to be on the underdog side and to have to fight your way to the top. My muggle sport is tennis, and their's nothing I like more than to give my opponent a love-thirty handicap."

Juliet stood back, obviously shaken up. "You're not..."she stuttered to get the words out. "YOU'RE A MUDBLOOD!" she finally barked out at him. She picked up her books, tossing the cloak off and running back into the castle.

Illuminatus looked stricken. "Wait! Juliet!" He ran after her, but realized it was pointless. He aimed his wand at a tree and cried "Malcendio!" Fiendfyre leaped across the tree, consuming it entirely. He trudged in the direction of the kitchens, whispering once to the stormy sky, "I thought you'd understand..."

Audrey walked out of the castle into the cool night, gazing at the beautiful star filled sky. "Wow it really makes you wonder whats out there." she said to herself.

A small bark-like laugh sounded from near the edge of the dark lake. A lone figure stood at the edge, braving the cold in merely jeans, sneakers, and a sweat shirt. Janor looked out over teh water, a smile plastered on his face. Making a few snowballs and tossing them into the water.
