The Outside Matters
Nothing else does

It’ll kill me

I’ve never wanted
Anything so much
So much

The outside matters
It’s all they’ll ever see
Perhaps it’s all I’ll ever be
Perhaps they’ll never see me

The outside matters
It matters so damn much
So much

I know some don’t even register
My hurt compared to theirs

The dress it’s too tight
It chokes me every night

I’ll miss all the things they got to do
I’ll never know the love they have

I could tell you I don’t care
I’m too honest for that

It creeps up behind me
It waits to strike
I’ll pass out from the rush

The outside matters
It matters to you like it does to me
I’m afraid I’ll never be enough
Cause the outside matters
I see that now

You would never be able to accept what I am
