Casting stones has 2 meanings all related to the same thing. Casting a stone transforms elemental energy (only one element per stone) into a physical object. The object can be used to quickly cast charge spells or other spells that take a great deal of time to create. Casting stones require 1/2 of the users energy to create, no matter what they're skill or energy level is at. The stones only have 1/4 of the users energy after creation. (yes you lose alot of energy) Obviously casting stones should never be created in the middle of a battle or right before. It's best to give yourself twice the time it takes for your energy to recharge when creating a casting stone you plan on using.
The question, why wast 1/2 energy for a 1/4 energy stone. The reason is the stone constantly gathers energy from nature, the longer you keep it the more powerful it becomes. In a weeks time the stone will grow as strong as the creature, in a month it'll be 3X as strong, in a year 20X. And the stones will be usable till they are completely out of energy.
I'v only ever created 2 casting stones, one I'v used up, and the other I still have, saving for the right time to use it, I'v had it for almost 3 years now.
Casting stones require a casting circle to create, I'll post the circle for the fire stone (yes you need a different circle for each element) soon.
