Of course video games are awesome...if you think otherwise, pick up a controller, you'll be transported into a virtual reality...well somewhat. Ever since games have come out, conflicts form. Such as real life violence due to the graphic content of a game you may have played. Well I believe that it is not the video game that is responsible for commiting an act of violence or crime, but of course, the person. If you are stupid enough to do something you've seen in GTA, you need help. If you're a kid playing rated M games because your parents are stupid enough to let you buy them, or other adults that just don't care, well I guess we know who to blame eh? Well let me explain. If your gaurdian lets you buy a game rated M, recommended for the 18+, the only reason you're playing it as a kid is either you didn't tell your parents what that means, or they never asked and you don't want to bother so you can gun a person in the face or whatever. But let's say your parents asked you what the M meant and were too dense to read the back, or under the rating, and you told them something to make them believe it meant something else, and they took your word for it. You think they would really want to know right? I mean a lot of kids have pretty much a thing for fibbing to get what you want, and the parent just pushes it aside. You think the parent would actually ask a better resource such as a person who works at the place you're buying the game to get a definite answer. So in a different way it could be either the parent, or the childs fault that kids play violent games. The easiest thing to do would have the kid play the games that are rated for him. They put ratings on their for a reason. That is the safest thing to do too, and you probably wouldn't have to worry much about it. But if you would happen to know that your child might be...'unbalanced' from maybe past experiences or something, then make sure he played games that don't show, or show very minimal violence. I mean, even cartoons for kids have violence. Or you could just restrict the child of playing any kind of video game I guess...but that seems a little cruel to me. Well I guess that's my blog on video game violence.
