Plusle: the thing was obviously designed to be used with Minun in 2vs2 battles, yet using the two together in such a manner is downright impractical. With their characteristics working in tandem and moves like Helping Hand at their disposal, Plusle and Minun can easily work their way towards a godly Special Attack the likes of which mere mortals can only dream of...and they learn NOTHING but Electric type attacks with which to take advantage of it. Consider also the fact that neither of these Pokemon's Defense even manages to clear 200 and that they share a weakness to Earthquake, a ridiculously common physical attack that hits BOTH opponents (as well as one's own partner) at once. What am I trying to say here? Only that while you're merrily pairing Plusle and Minun and beefing up their Special Attack to somewhere in the neighborhood of 700, your opponent will be switching in their Flygon, Aggron, Camerupt, what-have-you (which you can't even touch, by the way) and ending the match with a single Earthquake. Not a pleasant thought if you ask me, which is why I've decided to review Plusle as his own Pokemon...he may be weak all by his lonesome, but if you bring him in with Minun you are just BEGGING to be schooled.

Well...I'm not paid to just mindlessly insult these little darlings (okay, so I'm not paid at all, but that's beside the point), so let's just see what we can do with Plusle. Thunderwave is a given; any Electric type who learns Thunderwave keeps it, no questions asked. As is the case with the majority of his type's representatives, Plusle doesn't really need the Speed initiative that an opponent's paralysis affords...but he certainly could use that 1 in 4 chance of total paralysis, since anything hitting that pitiful 179 Defense of his is going to leave one massive mark. And of course there's always the fact that paralyzing an opponent will put your next Pokemon in a decent position to capitalize, since Plusle himself likely won't be around long enough to take advantage of it.
