Untitled #1 Volume 4
He woke up to a woman shaking him, and sat up, rubbing his eyes. It was morning! The kimono was still on him, though a bit wrinkled from the night before, and it felt good. The woman spoke slowly, and he was shocked to hear what she said, “Good morning, my lord, please tell me your name.” She told him, bowing.

“… Kyou Okami…” he told her after a long pause, not expecting to hear English. Nor did he expect to suddenly be awoken in the middle of the morning by a beautiful woman, but that was not as out of place, as strange, he had accepted the strange world, and ironically familiarity was what seemed strange.

“Okami-sama…” she called slowly, as if she were having trouble, “you fell from the sky, and we want to accept you as the leader of out great nation, we have several armies we would like to place under your control, and we think being sent from above you could lead us to victory.” She explained, bowing more deeply as he returned the bow, realizing he was being impolite.

He was speechless. It made sense, but it was hard to believe. “I have no military experience!” he objected, a fearful look on his face as he realized what was happening, “I cannot lead troops in battle, they will be killed! You’ve made a mistake!” he assured her.

“We will teach you! There cannot be no reason you fell from the sky, that you fell to us, especially in our time of need, the leader we had been following suddenly perished last night.” She told him, her hands moving to the beautifully decorated sash that hung in the front. Beginning to untie the cloth, she added, “We are willing to give you whatever you desire, please…” she explained, fingers reaching to the robe that covered her.

“Stop!” he told her, putting his hands over hers, “I… I will help, but I need training…” he told her, sighing. What was he getting himself into? A certain part of him finally realized something; he was getting into exactly what he wanted. He had always wanted to fight like this, he had always loved medieval warfare and he was getting his wish of fighting.

This was a scary concept, real fighting, but some part of him relished in the idea of getting a chance to fulfill all of his fantasies. The food was somewhat strange, miso, sushi, rice and sake, he wasn’t used to things like this for breakfast, but it was good.

The woman looked slightly hurt, and re-tied her kimono before she explained, “It is my job to teach you Japanese, until you learn I will walk with you, be your translator…” she informed him, sighing softly, “I will arrange that you are trained immediately following tomorrow, please make yourself comfortable until then.” She told him, getting up and bowing once more before she left the room.
