well i am making a journal. I don't expect anyone to read it, but feel free... unless you are a loser and will make fun of me. Go away no one wants you. Well i have never tried keeping a journal before. I think Gaia is good for it because no one knows who you really are. Participants are truly free to be who they desire and leave the trappings of social lives, expectations, and inner limitations behind. Just as I am talking now i would never say this to anyone i know in my real life... perhaps they wouldn't care. I read a tremedous amount. I enjoy many categories of writing, but my absolute favorite, for the moment, is fantasy. Rather broad i know smile . Harry Potter is coming out tomorrow and i fully intend to be there. I wish my sister or anyone of my real friends would feel as enamored with the novels as myself. Well maybe i am just strange. Another series i particularly enjoy reading and would recommend to anyone is the Dark Elf series written by R.A. Salvatore. Drizzt Do'Urden, my namesake on this particular site and many others, has become perhaps my most admired character i have ever read about. He is who i wish i could be. Countless nights have been spent dreaming of entering his world where the standards of good and evil are so easily set and the lines fully drawn without the areas of indecision or ambiguity. Dreaming up scenarios of us meeting was at one time my favorite past time. We would fight side by side for good! I have since grown older and no longer believe in the follies of youth. The world has caught up with me by homework, meaningless tests, and social pressure which i have tried my hardest to escape. Learning to cope with the world has taught me that people need an outlet to vent into. A place where they can be free. For some it is thier room listenind to music. For me, it is writing. Literature or music it matters not. creation is one of the greatest gifts that sentient beings posses. No artificial intelligence could have written with the passion of Beethoven or Thoreau. The one advatage humans will have over every advancement in technology is the ability to feel. Love or hate, Laugh or Cry. We will always be different.
