my soul is a drop in the ocean...
it's a flicker of light in the flame...
my life has lost it's emotion...
nothing is left but shame...
if frienship is your notion...
if getting to know me's your aim...
then don't just go through the motion...
and I may treat you the same...

love is an illusion...
a bright and beautiful dream...
to those lost in darkest ilusion...
it's better to leave them, 'twould seem...
when you are lost in confusion...
in life's horrible scheme...
then find your own solution...
that of honest self-esteem...

it's hard to find reasons...
in this nonsensical land...
where feelings change like seasons...
and grow out of hand...
where daughters and sons...
scorn their own parents' hand...
and even in mental dimensions...
it's impossible to understand...

though your friends you may shun...
and over time leave...
in a hurried confession...
on a dimly lit eve...
then take this revelation...
that surely you'd grieve...
for your own disposition...
and wish for reprieve...

life marches onward...
like a leaf on the sea...
and we hide behind cruel words...
so we don't have to see...
but there's no reward...
for solitudinous misery...
if time could only go backwards...
back to when we were happy...
