Shadow's untold secrets- not meant for mortal eyes

Goddess it's good to be back...and in a relatively good mood. Frustraited, but in a good mood.

Wandering the streets at night
You are by my side
And when something scares me
It is with you I hide
Protection from the wicked
Exalting the good
Your scolding and your chiding
Have me behaving as I should
Your smile and your laughter
Make, for me, a summer’s day
And your arms, they are a haven
In which, safely, I can lay

But why does everyone stare
When we walk side by side?
And why can no one see you?
They say, alone, I hide
That I myself am wicked
Or at least misunderstood
Though once I did behave
At a time I was good
Why is there now silence
Where once, laughter was heard?
And now, your arms are just so cold
Doubt; in me has stirred

Wandering the streets at night
I am ill at ease
And though you are beside me
I do as I please
I do not heed your council
Nor go in your arms
I do not laugh when you laugh
For that sets off such alarms
All sunshine in my life is gone
And I live for the night
And now, when someone says your name
It instills in me such fright

Alone, I stumble through the
And though you tag along
I wonder if you’re really there
From YOU I get the harm
And I see the gates are open
I see the snow on the stones
There are those inscribed letters
And I realize… I’m alone
And as your images fades away
I realize what was wrong
You left me on a summer’s night
And now you’re forever… gone
