Thinking about the new layout.

I like it.

This is shocking because nearly anytime a website changes their layout (Hotmail, Gaia, any other gaming site I visit), I dislike it. Intensely. And I use it, but I never completely forget how it used to be, when it was "easy" to use.

The good part of this layout?

People talk about the squished avatars. My browser didn't do that; I set Firefox not to shrink images.

The day-and-night thing in the header is cool, though it can be confusing to remember that 11:30 am MST is 9:03 pm Gaia ST. Still, it matches my original concept of Gaia: you are a character interacting with a world. This just reflects it much better than previous incarnations.

The logo is the one thing I have a beef with; I like the old logo. At one point, I downloaded the font someone made from it. Dunno what I was gonna do with it--open a cheap commissions shop? Maybe?

The shortcuts menu is nice, though remembering that My Avatar takes me to Equip can be a problem. Still, I don't have to use my Tektek Gaia bar as much, which is very nice. I only installed it because the previous navigation was so difficult to use in the ways I wanted it.

There being 8 Daily Chances is kind of screwing with me. Five, six, eight...it can be quite a jump and one heck of a time sink. I keep hoping I'm not forgetting one of the eight places because that's more than my short-term memory can handle for long.

It's going to take some getting used to, this new system. I'm enjoying it. Are you?
