Your head is filled with light. You feel dreamy as you walk through the forest. Gold shines through emerald leaves. You are in love. You imagine the future, two children, a cozy home, and the love of your life whose father just consented to her marriage. You think of her long Auburn hair and eyes with the depth of the ocean. She is laughing. A raven swoops past and lands on a dead tree just in front of you. Returning to the real world, you see it stare greedily down at you. The forest darkens. The trees stretch their long, black limbs toward you, grasping for your soul. A voice as cold as the locket you hold in your hand whispers your name. You spin around just in time to see two long ivory fangs sink into your neck. You hear a scream, and see your love, pale, weak, and near death.
