Let's dance!
It's summer vacations so Lala's parents are thinking about going to the beach for two weeks with the family. They bring the subject up at dinner:
-Girls what do you think about going to the beach for two weeks?
-I think that's great dad but I already have plans, I told you about it last week.
-I had completelly forgotten about it Chisa. What about you Daniela? Why don't you ask your friends to come with us? Since Chisa isn't going there's enough room for them.
-I can take them, really?
-Sure,as long as they can.
Lala goes upstairs and calls Daniela and Raquel. hey both can go so it's gonna be awesome. Then Daniela brings another subject:
-Now that you call me, you know that guy from the contest? I gotta show you the magazine interview I have of him. He's sooo hot!
-Ok. Ok. Good for him. What I really care for is the music, nothing else.
-Well then you don't have to wait too long, here it says he has been in the studio for almost a month now, and it won't be long before the single's out. He's probably going to release his album before we go to the beach.
-Great. I'll check it then. Bye
Lala isn't that excited, after all it's just one more of those teenage artists. He'll have a hit or so and after that no one will remember him.
It's mornig already. Lala woke up early because she was invited to see her friends' rehearsal to a dancing audition. She eats breakfast quickly and leavs to catch the bus.
When she gets to the center where the audition is going to take place she can't fiend anyboy except three girls: Catarina, Marta and Filipa. They're all also there for the auditions and laugh at seeing Lala.
Lala stays to watch them for a second and sees the disaster they are. Then, in last resorce, they ask for her help. Lala is insecure in the beginning but accepts. She puts the music on and her body just moves by itself. She doesn't even realize that, while she's dancing, a member of the jury is watching her.
The music stops. Everyone is amazed by how good Lala is. The member of the jury, a 20 year old woman, comes near her and says:
-You're a true talent. What's your name? Are you here for the audition?
-Thank you, I don't think I'm that good. My name is Daniela and no, I'm not here for the audition.
-Daniela? I would love to have you in my dancing group.
-I don't think I'm ready for a group. It's just not me.
-Well then change yourself by doing something different. If you change your mind here's my card.

After this the woman goes away.
Later that day Lala is in her room, thinking, looking at the card.
"What should I do?" "I'm not..."
Chisa enters her room. As fast as she can, Lala hides the card.
-What are you doing?
-Me? Nothing special, just came back home and was going to put some music on.
-Why do I even ask? It's always the same. My sister is so predictable. You're boring you know? So good all the time? Just live life while you can!
Chisa closes the door and walks down the stairs. Lala is still thinking about her words. She's angry. Angry because that's what everyone thinks of her.
-That's it! I'm going, I'm gonna start living, now!
The next day she gets up really early and goes to the place mentioned in the card. When she gets there she stops in front of the door. She's having second thoughts.
"Should I, should I not?"
"What am I going to tell everybody?"
But finally she remembers her sister and makes up her mind. She enters, although she is a bit frightened. She walks through the hall and then someone approaches her. It's the same woman from the other day, Patricia:
-I knew you would come!
-Well, I still don't know if I should stay.
-Are you kidding? Let's go! I'm gonna introduce you to th girls.
Lala knows she can't go back now so she decides to enjoy. She goes through the girls' changing room and enters the girls' "dancing room". There's a huge mirror in one of the walls, a bench in one of the sides and a stereo in the corner. The girls are a bit down since they have no good ideas for the coreography to enter the contest.
-Why don't you try to help them?
-Me? How?
-Just like the other day. Put the song playing and see what comes. Sometimes watching others helps visualising the moves.
-No, I can't do it. I can't. Sorry.
-Ok, no problem *winks*. Girls please come here for a second! This is the girl I told you about, Daniela. She'll be joining us and hopefully will help us a lot.
-Hi! I'm Carolina, nice to meet you. This is Maria, Camila, Susana (...presentation)
-Hi! Nice to meet you too.
-I've got to go girls. Please show her everything around and present her to the boys ok?
-Ok Patricia, don't worry. She's in our hands now.
-That's what I'm afraid of.
The girls take Lala and start showing her everything around. Then they see the boys.
-Damn, they have to ruin everything. We didn't want you to meet them already but I guess you'll have to.
-What's the problem with meeting the guys?
-We just don't get along, that's all.
There's one of them who gets Lala's attention.
-You don't want to get contact with that on. For sure!
-Why?
-Are you saying you haven't heard of Pedro? I mean THE Pedro?
-Maybe.
-He uses girls as dolls. We're nothing more than something you can use and put away like a shirt. I can't believe how there are still girl who can look at him.
-Oh, c'mon, he can't be that bad.
-No?
-I don't think there's such a nad person in the world, everyone has got feelings.
-He dated every single girl from the group. Do you need any more proof?
-Everyone? Aren't you exagerating? I mean that's about 15 girls!
-See? He's a really bad influence and just a horribl person. Get away from him or you can be the next victim.
-There's no need to be so dramatic. Besides, I'm not interested in boyfriends, I really ain't.
-Ok, if you say so.
...
-Daniela? I need to talk to you.
-Yes Patricia?
-Well as you're just 15, as most people here, you need an authorization of your parents, regarding travelling to contests and those kind of things.
-Hmm.......................I'll try.
-Problems with parents? Don't worry. Most people here have too. You have as much time as you need. And, if you have any older brother/sister they can sign it too.
-Thanks.
Lala got home really proud of herself for doing something for her without listening to anybody else. For the first time she wasn't being the same old Lala, and she liked it.
