I have a professor who is so wonderful that he inspires me to actually study, and this in a field in which I am not very good and is not my academic discipline. I think I have a little girl crush on him. He is hilarious! The work he gives is difficult, but he is very understanding and has a fascinating teaching philosophy and methodology.
He calls students "stupid" when they answer questions incorrectly, he is very controversial. A girl asked a question the other day and he said, "That is one of the stupidest questions I have ever heard, and you should reconsider pursuing an education and settle for being a sexual object until you are in your late 20s and worn out. I think it is more important to find someone stupid enough to marry you and support you at this point than it is to know what a coefficient is."
Can you ******** believe that?! Maybe I am masochistic and spiteful, but that kind of person does not discourage me, only makes me want to work harder for approval and recognition. Mathematics has never been so interesting.
I cannot wait until I am a tenured professor so I can brutally insult people and not have to consider any consequences.
