In San Diego there were a bunch of fires, three years after and almost to the day of the last fire, and I was evacuated from my home on Monday morning at 4:30. My family and I went to Poway and stayed at a friend's house for a couple hours before being evacuated again, to our church across the street, to join thirty members of our Spanish congregation. Then we were evacuated from there to Qualcom Stadium. We were well taken care of for three or four days before being able to return home.
I want to thank all of the volunteers, firefighters, soldiers, police, and the news stations for keeping us comfortable and up to date on the fires. We had a lot of run ins with helicopters who blew leaves and dirt onto our camp site when Governor Schwarzenegger came to visit. When we finally returned home the electricity wasn't on and we had to throw out all of our food in the refrigerator. Thanks to the power company we were able to get our electricity back on only two days later.
