so as my title says friday went from very very very good to very very very bad in a matter of hours. so at the awards on friday in des moines for and we got the Sportsmanship award, Community Service award, Judges Choice(which is like the best award you can get cuz theres only 6 given out a year and we got it last year), Second place in lights(we expected it since its only our second year competing in lights), and finally 1st place in colorguard Class 3(5th year in a row being the best colorguard in the state of iowa even better than hempstead who didnt even get 5th). yes very very very good but then the news and our day went downhill from there. we found out on the bus that there was a huge ice storm coming to des moines and that we had to leave early the next morning at 6 and not go to the mall and to stellas(the best restaurant by far) so that was kinda a bummer. then we found out we had to leave even sooner than that and it had to be at 1:30 in the morning cuz the storm was coming faster than expected. se we were on the bud at 1:30 waiting to leave when mrs. K comes on and tells us horrible horrible news. our captain B(who had to leave cuz of some personal problems(but we still consider her our captain)) had been in a car accident with Erin another person who graduated off the team. they were driving home around waterloo when they decided to switch drivers while driving. the rolled the car over in a ditch. Erin was sent to Covenant Hospital in Waterloo with spinal cord issues, a broken pelvis, and a broke arm. B was airlifted to Iowa City because she was internally bleeding, they removed her sleepn, and part of her liver but luckily they stopped the bleeding but put her in a drug induced comma so hopefully she wont die. as of now shes in the comma but is obviously not good. so please if you could find any time during the day to just pray for our friend because she doesnt ddeserve to die and there would be tons of people who would miss her greatly.
