1191 A.D.
After the great kings death, his kingdom was divided into a dozen equal territories to appease his twelve son’s hunger for power. The twelve siblings were nothing like their noble father. They were not kind, nor courageous. They were corrupted by greed and power. After their father’s death, kingdom became overrun by pestilence, famine, war, and death. Falling victims to the Black Death, peasants lined the streets; wagons would pass on a daily basis transporting the dead and dying into the catacombs, but the kings did nothing to aid their people, they simply sat upon their thrones thinking of ways to expand their territories, thus giving way to the kingdoms primary problem and lead cause of death, war. For you see, the kings wanted what they could not have, the Promised Land. During their fathers reign, their had been peace along side the kingdom of Masyaf, but the brother’s claim over the Promised Land lay a terrible strain on diplomacy. In the midst of their power struggle over the land,they began a massacre that would be remembered for centuries to come, an event better known as The Crusades…
