A Slice of Randomness
Since I started law school, I've been updating my journal a lot more regularly. Call it debriefing. Anyway, since I'm using Gaia now, I thought I'd cross post my entries here as well. Don't expect anything dramatic, profound, or even cohesive.
Merry Christmas
First, it's always so wonderful when someone on a site like this does a random acts of kindness. I'm still smiling about it today.

Okay, I'm sort of surprised because I'm actually enjoying the holiday.

I slept late because I was up incredibly late since I ended up drinking two lattes and an iced tea yesterday.

I did the rest of my Christmas shopping (which consisted of going to Books-a-Million and buying sixty dollars worth of gift cards and a couple of gift bags), then my mom and I went up to her brother's home. Her younger brother (the second oldest in the family) still lives in the house where my mom's family grew up, so we always go there for Christmas Eve. We've done it every year for the past 16 or so years (At least) and it was a tradition even before I was born. It just stopped briefly after her father died.

I'm really surprised because it went well. Very well. The house was full and one of my cousins had her two children there. I think they're about 3 and 2-ish, and they were adorable. (And I'm not even a huge kid fan.) I talked to a lot of different people, including the cousin who's getting married soon and who I met for the movie after Thanksgiving. That went surprisingly well. Gifts were given to the people who needed them (and I think they liked the gifts.) I also had a pretty good time at the gathering.

After we came home (with a ton of cookies, candy, and other goodies), I set up a Polar Express train I bought around the tree. I've always wanted a train around the Christmas tree and I finally saw one in Linens n Things. It was insanely expensive, which I didn't notice when I grabbed it, but I really like it. And it's very cool. While I set up the train (which was surprisingly tricky), I watched Mickey's Christmas Carol. Very old school. I'm also going to finish the Alvin and the Chipmunk's Christmas DVD I bought. It had the original special, as well as a couple from the 80's series. And I would REALLY love to have that series on DVD.

All in all, it was a great Christmas Eve. Tomorrow, we may go to mom's sister's house for dinner. I think it's still kind of up in the air.

Still, it's one of those days where you just feel like you have a good life.

Now, to go shoot some zombies on Popomundo.
