Sprit: SotC has had me thinking, we need to protect the wild horses we have left, because there really aren't very many. I decided to do some research on this. In the US 100 years ago, 2 million mustangs roamed freely. Today, only about 25,000 are left and the number is geting smaller each year. We need to stop it. Sooner than you know it, these creatures will all be domestic. Wild horses started our country, and because our country is running well, it doesn't mean they should end! Who said that the period of using horses for transportation is not going to happen again? Most likely it isn't, but with cars and pollution the way they are there is a slight chance. Wild horses are the pride and spirit of this country, and if anyone tried to stop that, then they would be bringing the country to a halt. We would be nowhere without our wild horses that awe us with their beauty and grace.
Running Free
By Maleah Fick
Golden forelock,
Golden tail,
This mare gallops
Through wind and hail
She lets out a whinny
With contentness and glee
For this mare is joyful
She's running free
