Ill start my journal with some background. This all starts with my great grandpa (Im not really sure on how many greats), he was born during the end of the Edo Period on August 13, 1856 in Japan, I never got where in Japan though.

His parents were an odd pair, his dad was a samurai, and his mom was a ninja. They met during a war between their groups, the chance meeting happened because they were sent to assonate each other. After a good hour or so of fighting they fell in love and faked their deaths to get out of the war, but that will be a story for another time.

My grandpa grew up on his familys rice farm with his older brother and sister (his brother was given training as a samurai and his sister was given training as a ninja). When he was five he asked his parents if they would teach him the ways of the samurai and ninja. For the next two years he trained as hard as he could, one day hoping he could fight and kill for honor.

That day came a week after his seventh birthday. A few hours after his family had dinner my grandpa went outside to practice what his dad taught him earlier that morning. A group of five bandits broke into his home and got the upper hand over his father who had broken his left hand earlier that week, and tied up his mother who surrendered after her husband was knocked unconscious and inches away from being killed. His older brother and sister were not around, leaving my grandpa to save his parents.

My grandpa ran into the house wondering what all the noise was about. After seeing what was going on and what might happen he fought and killed all five of the bandits with ease using what his parents taught him. After he was victorious he looked at the dead men, threw the sword he had away from him self, and started to cry. Since he had never seen death befor and didnt know what to expect let alone how to deal with murder on his conscious, he swore never to use a sword again.
