Ok so I went to Lubbock, Texas last week for the Texas FFA State Convention. Man oh man, was it fun! xd I did miss home for a while though. But I got over that quickly sweatdrop I feel kinda bad about that hehe sweatdrop Anyway, I went and on the seven hour ride up there, my friend (who shall remain nameless) decided that she would set the record for peices of gum she was able to hold within her mouth at one time. She got 16 in there before she had to spit it out. lol
When we got to the hotel, everyone wanted to take a nap b/c it was about 12am and everyone had been couped up in a van with eachother for 7 hours. A few of the boys went into the back of our teacher's truck and fell asleep in the back. I managed to get a few pics of that too.
When we were there, we went to general sessions and heard so many motivational speakers it was unbelievable!!!!!! I got to hear Sam Glen "The Chalk Guy" speak. He was so funny! He told some stories that made me want to fall on the floor I was laughing so hard. He tells us that we have to lighten up and learn to laugh at ourselves and everything that happens to us. When he was done talking, he drew a picture on a huge black piece of paper in chalk. The picture he drew was that of a lighthouse on the edge of the ocean with a beautiful sunset in the background.
A few days later, we got to hear from one Dr. Rick Rigsby. He told about the tragidies that had occured in his life. Then he told how he over came and learned from his expierences. Dr. Rigsby just happens to be one of the most sought after motivational speakers in the world. He truly changed my attitude about reality.
On the way back home, my head honcho (the vice-president of my chapter) decided to break my other friend's record of 16 pieces of bubble gum. He managed to fit 40 pieces in his mouth, and talked to his mom on the cell phone, and spit into an empty bottle of water so he could talk.
All in all, I had one of the most interesting adventures wink ever. I am glad to be home though.
