Loki sat in his lounge chair, the TV on a constant rerun of some show he'd probably seen every episode of at least thirty seven times. He wasn’t in any particular type of mood that would warrant this action but it was much better than doing nothing. "Maaaan...I'm so bored." The black mask with white filters over his eyes stood out against his face in the light of the T.V. Showing he was in his less than stable mode. "I wonder if anything else is on." He reached over and took the remote in his hand, switching the channels
As he flipped he saw a news channel showing some disturbing footage of a monster attacking the city of Over There. The news anchor was speaking in a calm voice like a game show host. "Yes Jim the monster has been terrorizing the upper east side of Over There for about 16 hours now. The authorities have been unable to raise any defense against it and have turned to the Justice League for assistance." He put his finger to his ear like most phony reporters did and began mumbling to himself before looking back to the camera. "Yes Jim I've just heard news that The Justice League has deemed Over There as 'Not important enough for us to bother with so fix it your damn self.' We can only assume that a hero has been called in from other sources."
From over to his left he heard a phone ring and reached over to pick it up. "Loki speaking what can I do for you Mr. President?" The red receiver blinked as he held it. He made a mental note to destroy it later. "Yes? A Monster? I saw it on the news...Hey I'm not the one who gave press the freedom to say whatever they want." He popped a potato chip into his mouth and flipped the channel. "Yes I heard about the justice league...Me? Hmm I suppose I could take it out..." He flipped another channel and the theme music for Firefly came on. "Well I'd love to but my favorite show just came on and I'm gonna watch it." He hung up the phone and grabbed more chips. "Who ever heard of naming a town 'Over There' anyway?"
