Thirty Years Later… There was a groan of metal as the ancient doors were slowly pushed apart. A solitary humanoid shape stood between the halves, throwing a long shadow as light filtered into the dark room. The man was short, around 5 and a half feet tall, his hair black. He had on strange blackish silver clothes that reflected the pale bluish light that was cast from behind him. He looked around the room, his eyes still adjusting to the dim lighting. “Man…..this place looks ancient. How long you think it’s been here, Mav?” He asked, turning to his reptilian companion. Maverick gulped, his claws closing around the door edge as he peeked in over the humans head. “I really don’t think we should be here Gaven…..the Council’s warned everyone about this place….it’s dangerous!” He whispered, his orange eyes slightly panicked. Gaven waved a hand at him. “Jeez…your Councilors are a bunch of old snakes….I bet there’s interesting stuff in here!!!” He exclaimed loudly, the echo bouncing around the room within, making Maverick wince. “Will you keep it DOWN?” The dark brown Tanzec hissed, his ears flicking back against his skull. “I never should have let you drag me here! We’re going to get in trouble!” Gaven chuckled, walking into the room a ways. “Man….you’re so jumpy…” He teased. He stopped dead at a sound deeper in the room, his blue eyes coming to rest on a pair of clawed feet that the light from outside illuminated. A loud scraping sound started up as the talons on the feet scored the floor, where there were hundreds of scratches, as if whatever it was that was back there had been trying to get out for awhile. Gaven slowly looked up at the rest of the creature, his expression going from surprised, to terrified as he saw that it towered over him. This thing was easily twice as big as Maverick, who was at least seven feet tall, it’s scaled body radiating raw power as it seemed to come back to life at their presence. Glowing plates on it’s body stirred to life in blue green colors, showing indigo scales and what Gaven had assumed was a perfectly healthy creature, to be wasted and thin, it’s ribs showing through the tough scaly hide, which was dull and dead looking. As the humans eyes reached the head of this monster, he spied a dark silver looking mask-like helmet that covered it’s head, a similarly colored collar hitched around it’s neck and large chain links stabled to it stretched upwards to the ceiling. But he froze in absolute terror as the creatures eyes opened and focused on him. There was something so sincerely wrong with those eyes; they stared at him, piercing through him as if he was a speck of dust, or vermin that this creature could easily sweep aside. He managed to find the will to move his legs and backed away, still staring into those horrible eyes before he heard a shout, and the eyes snapped up to stare at the source of the sound, seeming to dispel the hypnotizing effect as Gaven stumbled backwards, turning to see several Tanzec patrol guards standing in the opening. “You FOOLS!!!! You have no permission to be in this sector of the prison cells!” The commander hissed, holding Maverick by the scruff of his neck, the younger Tanzec squirming miserably. Gaven gaped at him then jerked slightly as a muffled snarl issued from the current occupant of the cell, his eyes narrowing as he glared at the patrol leader, the leader coolly stared at the chained creature, throwing Maverick to the side as he stepped in, a smirk on his face. “Yeah…I remember you….murderer. You’re going to rot in here until the day. You. Die.” He murmured, biting off each word with relish. The indigo Tanzec responded in kind, letting out a rumbling growl as he strained against his bindings, tossing his head as far as he was able as his tail lifted up, thumping on the ground hard enough to leave a dent in the rock. The other Tanzec inched back a bit nervously but the commander chuckled. “Yeah….no way you can get out of that as you are….” He said, satisfied with his torture as he turned to walk out. A horrible grinding rending sound came from behind him, followed by the sharp crack of shattered metal. He turned just in time to see a close up view of the cold metal mask before a clawed foot hit him square in the stomach. His softer stomach scales gave way before the cruel talons, and blood spattered the floor as the prisoner twisted his foot, the unfortunate commander’s bowels spilling out as he let out a shriek of dismay, soon following his spilled innards to the floor. What could only be discerned as a chuckle came from behind the mask as the prisoner flicked his foot, looking up at the Tanzec patrol squad. The second in command yelled, and the group leveled their rifles at him. The prisoner stood his ground, both legs still chained together loosely as he worked his arms, the metal groaning as he started to pull it apart. “Fire!! Damnit, FIRE!!!!” The group opened fire on him, too late as he snapped the bindings on his arms, grabbing the dragging chains and swinging them like deadly whips as he dodged to the side, rolling as the Tanzec’s blaster fire tore chunks out of the stone floor where he had been seconds ago. The prisoner rolled into a crouch holding the lengths of heavy chain at his sides as he pivoted on his foot, turning and launching himself into the startled group of Tanzec, spinning and attacking with a crazed ferocity, the chains slicing through thick hide and breaking bones as they made contact. Within seconds the group had been reduced to only two uncertain looking guards, both of whom threw their weapons down and attacked him head on. He was not deterred as he dropped one chain, grabbing one in both hands and snapping it, now only a shorter length of metal. He ducked under the first guards blow, then curled his claws, slicing up the belly of the other reptile and cutting him open. The green Tanzec screeched in pain, eyes wide and horrified as he grabbed at his semi-exposed organs, gurgling as he fell over. The other one, His scales as black as the shadows, looked slightly panicked as he started backing up. The prisoner stopped, standing over the green one as he lifted his hands up, almost as if it was an effort to move them that much. His claws came to rest on the helmet, clicking on the cold metal as he tore the straps holding it in place. Gaven had by now, stumbled over to the side of the cell, next to Maverick, who was staring in wide eyed terror at the scene. As the prisoner lifted the helmet off of his head, the last remaining Tanzec stiffened, his eyes bulging out as he stared, every inch of him trembling. “No….oh Creator please…” He murmured, shivering. As the helmet came free, the prisoner tossed it to the side, opening his eyes and fixing the Tanzec in his sights. “You disgusting little ******** are going to get what you deserve….” He muttered, his eyes flaring and shifting in color as he took a step forward. The black Tanzec finally found he could move again and turned, making a dash for the door. There was a sickening slghst as his leg was severed from the rest of his body by unseen forces, causing him to fall over and writhe in pain. “No…you’re not getting away….never….” The prisoner hissed, a sick smile stretching his features as he walked toward the now crawling Tanzec. His arms were torn out of their sockets with a popping, grinding sound, accompanied by a hearty scream from the Tanzec as he jerked around, now only a torso as his remaining leg kicking about. The prisoner licked his fangs, crouching next to the screaming mass. “Yeah….and there’s a lot more of that in store for you….all of you. Especially that b***h, Kell. I’ll make her suffer….” He hissed. With a flick of his wrist, there was a gout of blood as the Tanzec’s head was cut off, his body giving one more convulsive shudder before lying still. He slowly stepped through the carnage, stopping at the door and looking back at the human and young Tanzec cowering in the corner. He stared at them for a minute before turning and walking out. “Idiots….but useful idiots…” He murmured, sighing and walking down the tunnel slowly, his weakened body threatening to give out on him as he leaned against a wall to rest. “Yes…..i’ll have my revenge….i’ll slaughter every single one of those traitors…” -------------------------------------- Alcatrass grinned to himself, giggling uncontrollably in the dark tunnel. It slowly built to maniacal laughter as he threw his head back, his eyes wide in glee. “I’ll kill you ALL!!! AHAHAHAHA!!!” He laughed, pushing away from the wall and disappearing down the tunnel. To be continued…
