[Nibelheim assignment]
-Chapter two-
" Allright, so what does the radar say, Chante`?" The group stared at the Black and neon light radar in Chante's closed hands, and tryed to make sense of it. The only person who could read it was Chante`, since she was more experienced in the technological area. Not even Vincent could figure out the buttons, and arrows setting in a diagnol line across the screen. But it was some-what typical, since he couldn't even figure out how to use a cell phone, unless there was an instruction manual placed before him, with never-ending detail and description. Chante' sighed, and clicked a few buttons beneath the screen, and turned the tiny Radar upside down to see where the beacon was headed. Then, the device rang.
"It should be just around the corner from the alleyways." She replied and Vincent looked up from the radar screen and pin pointed the direction she was talking about. Lauren and Ilexisi' walked up ahead, and took a U-turn around some street poles, aligned across the street.
"I think I see it. Theres some caution tape wrapped around the walls, just 30 feet from here." Lauren exclaimed,excitement taking over. Ilexisi` was a bit nervous but followed closely behind, as Vincent and Chante` caught up with them. The four of them walked up along the concrete walls of Nibelheim and stopped in front of the yellow plastic tape, which was up and down the tall building walls. The Portal must be inside of the building. Chante` thought, taking in her surroundings. Her Ruby eyes then narrowed, and she concentrated them on the building structure. It seems...so familiar. Where have I seen this place before?. She knew for some reason, that she had been in this building sometime in the past. Lauren noticed her expression, easily, and attempted to read Chante's thought's but she blocked them, with ease.
"What's wrong?" Lauren asked, with concern. Chante` didn't reply as if it were a rhetorical question and just walked up to the doorway. She twisted the knob and pushed the door open. Lauren grabbed Vincent's hand and the two walked in after Chante`, with Ilexisi` shortly behind.
There was a vortex, whirling in a clockwise turn right in front of them. Guards were in front of it, and Lauren smiled at them and walked up to them with and W.R.O ID card, that showed them that she was assigned, as well as her bud's, to check it out. The Guard, inspecting her card, nodded and gave a flirtacious grin. Vincent gave him the 'Look of Death' which put him in his place, and Lauren laughed silently to herself, gripping Vincent's hand.Ilexisi` took a few steps in front of the Vortex or so-called "Portal" and felt the urge to touch it with the tips of her fingers. It taunted her, and for some reason she took a few more steps towards it. She was about to touch it, until Chante` put a hand on her shoulder and shook her head 'No'.
"It's too dangerous to start walking through. We don't know where it leads yet." She explained and Ilexisi` nodded, dissapointed.But she knew she was right.
"I need rope." Lauren said, after finishing her eye inspection on the Vortex. Vincent flinched and turned to her, with raised eyebrows.Chante` and Ilexisi did the same and eyed her suspiciously.
"Lauren, I don't think that's a good idea." Vincent said softly and his wife just smiled at him.
"I have to see where the portal leads. The rope is so the portal doesn't close up right when I walk through it. It will keep it open. So babe, theres nothing to worry about." She explained, and he still seemed a bit worried, and shook his head. Ilexisi` however averted her eyes to the boxes, and barrels piled up against the gray concrete walls and noticed ropes, coiled up on hangers. She walked up to one of the barrels and stepped on top of it, reaching her fingers up to the rope and getting on her tip-toes. She grabbed the rope and jumped back down, then uncoiled it from it's circular formation. The rope seemed sturdy enough, as she tugged at it and noticed it wouldn't tear and tied it in triple knots around her waist.
"I'll do it." She spoke up, and Lauren looked at her with a glare, and Chante` stared with disbelief. Vincent however, was smiling and kissing the top of Lauren's head, pleased.
"This is coming from someone who didn't want to get killed on her first mission." Lauren said, annoyance in her vocal cords and Vincent kissed her again. Chante` just stared at Ilexisi` and walked up to her to grab a hold of the rope.
"First off, Vincent is being a worried husband, second, It's my first mission so shouldn't I have some fun to boost my confidence?, and third, hold the freakin rope and don't let go." Ilexisi` giggled a bit and tossed the loose side of the rope to Lauren, and Chante` gripped a hold of the middle. Vincent smirked and grabbed the end of it and all three of them held on tightly.Ilexisi` slowly walked up to the entrance of the Vortex and reached out her hand. She then turned to look at Lauren, and smiled nervously.
"If the rope stops moving, that means I'm dead." She mumbled and Lauren growled.
"If You get yourself killed, I am so going to revive you then kill you again myself." Lauren replied, bitterly.She obviously didn't like that Ilexisi` was going to go through the portal, herself.
"Wow, Laur. How comforting." Chante` laughed, and Ilexisi` rolled her eyes, facing the Vortex again.
Ilexisi` stepped a foot into the Vortex and winced as her foot tingled, from it. She then put a hand in,wincing one more time. It didn't hurt it was just an odd feeling coursing up her arm and leg. She took a deep breath and walked in. Her whole body dissapearing into the Black Portal, her friend's behind her not in eye sight any longer.

AUTHORS NOTE:
Well, This chapter actually isn't finished yet. I need to edit a few parts and I need to type up at least 6 more paragraphs, until this Chap is completed. I hope you enjoy what I have so far. Love you all my fans! n___n
EDIT:: I decided to leave this chapter short instead of adding a few more paragraphs. Besides, it's at a funny cliffhanger to piss everyone off. Hehe.
