Lol, this is my best story EVER!!! K, FYI, this is a children's story...ish. It has the same rhythm, but not exactly appropriate for reading to children (unless you really want to, of course). So if your wondering why the sentences are so short, sweet, and simple...that's why.

Benny was a cat. His leg was infested with parasites and he couldn’t walk straight. Life was hard for Benny. Poor, poor Benny!
Every day and every night, Benny would drag his limp leg behind him, meowing pathetically all the way. In the streets, people would look at him and quicken their pace. Why would they leave Benny? Why wouldn't they help Benny?
This is because they are afraid to. They see Benny and they keep walking because they don't know how to help this poor cat. Most would just forget about poor Benny. The truth is that they're afraid to help Benny.
So now Benny continues to drag his lame leg behind him. There isn't anything he can do about it.
Benny can't hunt for himself. He can't catch his own prey. Benny is all skin and bones, his ribs poking out from his scraggily dirty fur. For food, Benny has to drag himself to tipped trash cans. He pushes the garbage around until he finds something almost edible. Benny is forced to eat rubbish.
When Benny is lucky, he'll come, to a restaurant trash can, tipped over, the street covered in food scraps. Other animals have already started on this feast. When the owner comes out, the other animals run, but Benny can't. He tries feebly to get away, dragging his lifeless parasite-infected leg behind him, but he's nowhere near fast enough.
Benny is kicked away from the garbage, the owner's boot digs into Benny's side at a painful angle and he is tossed against the stone wall. Benny's poor bruised body crawls home.
Benny's home is under a bridge. Many other animals come here for shelter. It's very crowded. The bridge runs over a river. It's very wet and miserable in Benny's home. He can't get any sleep because the other animals move around and make too much noise.
Benny is a starving, tired, wet cat, alone to drag himself through the streets where no one will help him. His only thought is to survive. It won't be much longer before Benny falls over, another feast to the rats, which devour his leg and bite other animals, passing on the parasite.
More food for the parasite.
