Name: Fr. Jakob Vogelsang Gender: Male Age: 78 Race: Human Element: None without the ring; Light with the ring Magick: The ring of the Blue Lantern- abilities of the ring: Dispell all darkness, healing of wounds, calling of dead souls, reanimation of a fully intact dead body, youth, superhuman strength Weapons: The Ring, a large branch he uses as a staff Appearance: Jakob is a lanky old man with whisps of faded blonde hair (cut in a tonsure, of course), thin as spiderwebs, and pale blue eyes that seem to always be lighted with a spark of love. He wears plain brown robes and a black cape, with a staff always clutched in his skeletal fingers. His feet are clad with worn leather boots in the winter and sandals in the summer. His face is lined with soft wrinkles, always amiable, his mouth curved in a gentle, peaceful smile. Weaknesses: Easily tricked because he is naivete and very trusting, quickness (he needs time to put on the ring) of attack, children (he loves them all so much that he couldn't harm them even if they were killing him). History: Jakob was born two months after his father died and was raised with his six sisters by his mother and grandmother. By age seventeen, he knew his calling was to be a monk. So, he joined the Franciscan Order. A year after he had officially taken the vows, he fell in love with a girl who walked daily by the monastery. He gave her notes and roses in a basket over the wall and met with her secretly in the rose garden (not THE Rose Garden, just a rose garden). Eventually, he got the nerve to kiss her and when he did, the cruel, harsh abbot caught him and sent him off to be punished. But the poor girl, Anneliese, was seized by the abbot and was almost forced to sleep with him, but she put up too much of a fight, so out of fear of being caught in his own iniquity, the abbot killed her and burried her secretly in the rose garden. The next day, her spirit came to Jakob (meditating in the garden) and gave him a ring- the Ring of the Blue Lantern. Many decades passed by and he never put on the ring; he only kept it in his pocket. But, when he was sixty, he adopted a dark elf/ wind faery and was almost burned at the stake by the angry villagers. As he was being dragged out, he took out the ring and put it on. As soon as he did, a great force of light photons blasted those mean people away from him, allowing him to escape to a different town, where he could peacefully raise his adopted daughter and still serve his God through the brotherhood. He currently lives in an impoverished cottage next to Der Wald with Conere, who believes she protects him with her dark elf and faery magick, but really, he protects her as her "guardian angel".
