The water was so cold it made me fall asleep. Iwas watching my mother crying befor i fell asleep.i felt so mad,and so sad and angry for not watching what iwas doing and look where it's gotten me!When Iwoke up I woke up to people cheering.
AsI stood up i almost screamed at what I saw.there were people with animal ears and they all had tails!One of them offered me a drink.I took it nervously.when I looked into the bucket of water I saw Ialso had animal ears.Iscreamed and dropped the bucket.everyone just stood there like I was crazy or something.The one that gave me the bucket asked me what was wrong and I mummbled,"I can't be an animal person,I just can't!"when the others heard me they gasped and one of them said,"here,I'll take ona tour.It was a ladies voice,soft,kind,and gentle.
"o-o-ok then"I said. She took me by the arm and whispered"It's alright daer,no one wants to hurt you,we just want to be friends".As she said this,she reminded me of my mother.Her voice was so gentle.
after we got done with the tour, she llet me stay at her house for the night.As I lay there in the bed,Ithink.I think about the river.I thuoght about my mom,and she tried to snatch me out of the river.and then I thought about the strange peopleI also thought about my new grown tail and ears.Why was I a cat-girl?what made me turn this way?As I thought about all this I soon fell asleep.
When I woke up I was greeted bye that same kind lady. "here",she said to me" "I made you some clothes this morning.Well go ahead put them on now" She showed me to the bathroom and helped me tie the string on the back of my dress.
"Oh so sorry dear,My name is Hennrietta"she said in a soft voice"but you can call me Etta,everyone else does. As we walked out the door we were greeted by a Raccoon boy.Hello Etta,here is your bread you requested"He said to her,taking a loaf of bread out of his bag." Ah and you must be the new one,yes you washed up on the shore yesterday" he said,chuckleing."excuse me,but i prefer to be called by my name" I said to much more rudely then I should've.Oh well what is your name then?" he said."my name is Rini"I said bravishly.Oh, Is that right?"said Henrietta."Well yes it is"iI said nervously""well best be off"he said looking at watch.bye Etta"hesaid hurriedly" bye Rustle"Etta said calling after him.After we got back to where I washed up on the shore she said"you were pretty cold when we found you"she said look at the shore."we didn't think you'd make It , but you proved us wrong."
That night she let me sleep in that same bed."Good night she sadi" as she went up the stairs."Etta? I asked nervously."Yes" She said. Etta, why am I a Cat Girl?"Iasked with great concern.Same reason I'm a Cat girl" she said in a matter-factly tone.When you go down the river you go through a change.It's all because of the water though.You see,the water has a certain element that turns you into an animal person.we don't know what it is exactly but were pretty sure it's that "I could tell she was trying to hurry up and get to bed and still tell the story right,but I understood it as well as I could be fore she said"good night"
