Asylvan's Nonsense
I'll write about what ever comes to mind...
Two out of Three

“The Devil made me do it” I’ve often heard
But our fate was blamed on your father’s word
Raising us may have been a real chore
But you’ve admitted we deserved much more
There’ve been times when I believed he was there
I’d bow my head and say this little prayer
How could he simply have forsaken me?
And gambled on the best two out of three

In our case it always seemed like the Devil won
You convinced yourselves your job you’d done
They say god works in a mysterious way
For the sins of the parents the children must pay
Since the beginning it’s always been
A child must suffer for the parent’s sin
Look back and take heed of the trinity
One sacrificed for that two out of three

How could we ever have faith in his plan?
While we are subjected to the will of man
As our childhood was wrought with pain
Any faith from us would seem almost insane
Maybe you’re lucky and his plan includes you
Gambling could be considered mysterious too
Mark my words some day you might see
God’s real plan is just for two out of three

Now I guess two of us have found their way
And in God’s grace they are bound to stay
As for me I never could have believed
In a God whose will seemed so ill conceived
Maybe his final plans do include my sons
But God knows they aren’t the only ones
I have a daughter who’s a lot like me
Another victim, I guess, of that two out of three

Perhaps that was his mysterious plan all along
Two out of three somehow ignore the wrong
I guess I’m just another casualty of war
So I suppose that’s what I’ll have to settle for
The plan seems to work I guess he’s winning a lot
The sacrifice is only there to fatten the pot
Just pray you don’t also end up a casualty
When the dice roll again for that two out of three

I’m certain now gambling is God’s way to go
All of his plans seem to prove this is so
They try to say that Christ died for me
But Christ was simply the first one out of three

Two find love
In the God above
But at what cost?
One always lost
Much like Christ
The sacrificed

Is this the Trinity?
Sacrificing one of three
As long as two are saved
Matters not how God behaved
God’s will is always done
While he gains two for one
