Another Broken Soul Continuation

“Hey there, beautiful,” A drunken guy had walked up, a vodka bottle in one hand. She had gotten annoyed in the very second, she sat up slowly, looking toward the guy, and smirked. She had been through times like this. On the inside, she was only just a little frightened that he would go after her, that he would hurt her. She got up off the bench, and slowly backed away. The man had begun to move faster, and so had she. She turned around, and ran, as fast as she could, but the man caught up, and grabbed her fore-arm. “You can’t leave me little girl.” Before the girl knew it, she was shouting for help, being jerkily dragged away by the drunken man.

There was a boy not that far away, Jaime supposed was still awake, and he came down to help her. At least she thought he was going to. He froze up just looking at the drunken man. “Help me, please,” Slipped out of Jaime’s mouth, and she mentally kicked herself, she knew she could take care of herself. But the drunken guy had already had her; she couldn’t do much more at the moment. The boy broke off a bit of branch, and swung it at the guy’s head, thick end first. The drunken man threw Jaime to the ground, and held his face, dropping his vodka bottle next to her. The boy picked her up, and ran with her over his shoulder. She felt so weak, so defenseless; she didn’t know what to do. She didn’t know where he was taking her; she didn’t know much of anything right now. She sighed gently, and looked around the new neighborhood she was going to be staying in.

Once they arrived to the place they were at, it seemed so fancy, Jaime almost went into shock. The boy was a rich kid. In Jaime’s world, rich kids were snobby, they always were to her. But he saved her. It was an interesting enactment, for when people get older, and says the same thing as Jaime had thought about them. She sighed again, and she heard him open the door, and then he sat her down on the ground. “Are you alright?” He asked in a soft voice. The boy was being so kind to Jaime, and yet she couldn’t open her mouth to say anything.

Once she grew the courage to speak, she nodded and barely smiled. “Yes, I am alright. Thank you for helping me,” She whispered to him, as her eyes looked down to the ground. She felt his finger under her chin, and he gently moved her head to look back at him.

He smiled to her. “I’m going to have to hide you some place. Not a lot of people in this home would like it if I brought home a “trashed” person.” He even did the quotations around trashed. He let out a laugh, which caused Jaime to laugh. “What is your name?” He asked a questionable look clearly on his face. “I’m Jonathon. You must be new to town.”

Jaime let out a little giggle, and then nodded. “My name is” Was Jaime really going to give out her real name to someone who saved her. She decided she had to trust him, because he did save her. “Jaime. And I am new. I do not know how long I will be staying.” She put on a serious face in that moment.

“Do your parents live around here?” He asked. Jaime just wanted to say that her parents no longer existed in her life, so she wouldn’t have to tell anymore lies. But she wanted to hide who she really was from Jonathon, so he wouldn’t get hurt, just like she did. She bit her lip lightly, trying to make sure she didn’t say the truth, because the truth would not set her free, it would trap her in a box that would slowly kill her.

“Yes, but not really close to here, just a few miles away,” She whispered, letting the lie roll off her tongue. It was a little white lie, at least to her it was. She didn’t want to hurt him at all, not one bit, she didn’t want him involved in her life at all, because it could end up getting him killed. Why would she want that for a guy that saved her? T’was sort of like Romeo and Juliet, but Jaime was sure that he didn’t like her back, not at all. Who would, anyways?

Jonathon let out a sigh, to what Jaime thought was, in frustration. But the look on his face showed nothing but concern. Maybe he was concerned that his parents would be displeased that he let a girl in the house, maybe that’s what he was all concerned about. Jaime bit her lip. “I don’t know what I am going to do with you. I guess I am going to be taking you to school tomorrow. ‘Might as well let you stay here for the night. It’s not a problem at all anyways, too many rooms that lie in this house empty.” It seemed as though he was sad, and Jaime didn’t know what to do. She never tried to cheer anyone up, because she had never known how to. She just walked away from people who were upset; she never really talked about it with anyone.

This time she moved closer to Jonathon, and hugged him gently. She heard him whisper a thank you toward her. “I’m here for you Jonathon, whether you like it or not.” She let out a soft chuckle, and then suddenly, concern washed over her. She was being nice to him. She was getting close to him. It wasn’t right. “Um, could you show me a room to sleep in? I want to be well rested if I’m going to school tomorrow.” Jonathon had nodded, still not saying a word. He took her hand, and walked with her upstairs. He showed her to one room, and she smiled. “Thank you.”

He chuckled and shook his head. “I’ll be sure to walk you up for school tomorrow after my parents leave for work. Just don’t make a sound if you get up before I wake you in the morning. My parents would probably be mighty ticked if they found a girl in the house.” He took her hand to his mouth, and kissed the top of it. “Good night, Jaime.”

“Good night, Jonathon.” She let out a soft chuckle, and closed the door, going straight to the bed in the room, and passed out from exhaustion and the wondrous of the night. She began to dream a sweet dream, which turn into a sweat drenching nightmare. She woke up with an adrenaline rush in the morning, and stayed quiet, like Jonathon had told her. He didn’t come to wake her up yet. And she wanted to make sure she wasn’t any trouble to him. So she looked through everything, and it seemed there were clothes already there for her, and they didn’t even look half bad. So she changed into some, and re-wore her black hoodie. She lay back on the bed, falling asleep, waiting for Jonathon to come and get her. She felt strange being in his house. She was scared that her parents would find her in their house, and go after her. Suddenly she heard some whistling outside the door, and she lay still on the bed, her eyes closed. It was better to find her that way, so she wouldn’t get yelled at right away, then with her eyes open, when she would get yelled at right away.

When she heard the door open, she took in a deep breath. Foot steps were coming near her, the person moved closer to the bed. She started to lightly tremble, and then a soft voice was in her ear. “It’s okay to wake up now, Jaime.” It was her savior. She opened her eyes, to see Jonathon. Or at least she hoped, she didn’t want to be dreaming at a time like this. She sat up more, and she was wrong, it wasn’t Jonathon at all. She crawled back to the back board of the bed, and then, she noticed, it was a dream again, a crazy nightmare.

“Jonathon, don’t hurt me, please,” Jaime whispered in and outside of her nightmare. Jonathon, whom was outside and inside her head, took hold of Jaime’s hand.

“I would never hurt you, Jaime. Calm down.” He woke up Jaime again, or tried to, then pulled her to him, trying to comfort her.
