Thoughts of a Green...
I like writing and reading, etc...kind of you bookish/adventurish type. I write about anything I want, really. Sometimes it's a story, sometimes not. Don't expect frequent updates, coherency, or (for that matter) readers. Mwa.
Thoughts on Avatar: The Last Airbender, Sozin's Comet
Personally, I believe that Sozin's Comet was done beautifully.

The fact that the "White Lotus" storyline, which had been painstakingly woven into the story in small ways throughout the series, finally came to fruition and brought Iroh and the rest of the old men along with it was extremely satisfactory.

The fact that Katara and Aang ended up together is honestly fine. Remember how Aang, ultimately, was the one who had what Katara needed in dealing with her mother--the advice not to fight? The two have been played off of one another throughout the whole series; there has been much development in their relationship, a development that is missing between Zuko and Katara. Those two are together because the both see the necessity of certain things (fighting, justice, revenge, loss of mothers), but the same could be said of Zuko and a number of other characters. A boy and a girl can be just friends with one another. A hard concept, but trust me that it happens. True, it was Katara who was locked up with Zuko in Ba Sing Se, but it was Mai who fought Azula and risked her life to save him. Maiko actually makes more sense...the two were together as children, and both have a similar outlook on the world. Plus, as was pointed out to me by someone else, it is nice to see the goth girl get the guy for once.

Azula's slip into insanity was very well done. The fact that Ty Lee and Mai betrayed her was obviously the catalyst (as can be seen in the Southern Raiders), and her mother's unconditional love, a love she cannot understand much less accept, aided her descent. The image of her at the end, throwing an adult equivalent of a serious child's tantrum, was an appropriate culmination.

My main complaint is that Smellerbee and Longshot were never seen again. I rather liked them.

Oh, yes...and the animation of the fight between Zuko and Azula was great.

Other notes:

-The ship does not make the series. Zutara fans must look beyond that one couple to the rest of the plotline, which was really, really good and well thought out.

-Personally, I like Kataang, Sokka/Suki, and Maiko. Doesn't mean I am not open to debate--Zutara would have been okay. Not feasible, and certainly less meaningful (Zuko and Katara as comrades is much more interesting), but not too bad. I may have gone to the plate for Sokka/Suki, but no other pairing, really.

I have a favorite crack pairing:

Ty Lee and Haru. School-time shipping, thank you. I am very satisfied with the possibilities inherent in this pairing. I may explore some at a point.
More to be added.
