Kitty's Super Fun Awesome Cool Fantastic Journal of Happyness
Comic-ness
Kay, so, I've wanted to do a webcomic for a while, but I've been too lazy, but I'm seriously going to try and get one going sometime soon. Problem is, I don't know what to do. I'm probably going to do intermittent random comedy and video game and political satire, but I'm not sure what to do for my main comic. I have a few Ideas:

First: A story I've been working on for a good six or seven years. It's a fantasy, it's your classic story of a descendant of dishonored royalty finding the key to finding an ancient sword of power to fight bad people trying to release an ancient evil.

Second: A story based off of the Legend of Zelda Series, it takes place roughly five to ten thousand years in the future of Hyrule A(if you don't know what that means search youtube for some theories on the order of the Zelda Games) In a world where all legends and records of the triforce, the hero of time, ganon, the master sword, etc have all been sealed away so no one can repeat the catastrophes of the past.

Third: An out-casted knight stationed at an outpost outside the capital city is surprised one day to witness a girl fall from the sky. The Knight takes the girl into the capital city to have her officially interrogated. The Knight reveals that she is out-casted because the medieval culture does not understand her homosexuality. The girl who fell from the sky, is released because she's deemed not dangerous because she cannot remember much more than her name but becomes out-casted because of her unknown origins. The Girl and the Knight set out to uncover the girl's past.

Fourth: A story very undeveloped at this point, hopefully kept undeveloped so the plot can twist as I draw the comic, and even I won't know how it will end. It would be modern/futuristic but fantastic at the same time, kind of like Final Fantasy VII but maybe a bit more fantastic. It would start out with a masked man murdering the royal family and then capturing the knight that pursues him. On the airship they flee in the masked man would reveal that he was a prince of the royal family. Much more than that I haven't decided, but I've contemplated having the royal family that was murdered be all impersonators put in place by some other power.

What I need now are opinions, which story do people think I should do? I want people to give me their suggestions and even Ideas in the form of Journal comments, PMs are okay too I guess, but the preferred method would be journal comments.

I like the third, too. Not only because it sounds like a cute story, but it's also very approachable for the artist/writer and the readers. It would be pretty "easy" to start up and keep along with, but the more you develop the story and develop your artistic skills, the more you will be able to do with the story.

Ah! I keep reading this from my holy comic shamans, but start out small. If you plan your first comic to be a Big Earth-Shattering Epic, not only will it suck, but you'll get stuck easier, especially if you don't have much experience with long-format comics. Do four or five pages of something doable. Once you can write five self-contained pages, and draw those pages within, say, two weeks, you can take a crack at eight pages, and so on. Five pages is probably enough to get into the swing of a webcomic, though.
And, not to blah blah blah for too long, but remember to set your pages goal to something do-able, too. If you're really busy or often procrastinate, maybe one or two a week is all you can do. Don't get in over your head, because, well, webcomics are first about the fun of it.
