I just finished reading Agatha Christie's " And Then There Were None " . It was a great book for murder mystery lovers . I completely recommend it . For those we haven't read it , and don't plan to , I'm going to write the main plot and maybe that might interest you .
Main Plot : 8 guests and a butler and his wife are invited to an island mansion on Soldier Island , and are to stay there for a week with their "host" . At dinner , their host has still not arrived , an "unseen voice" accuses each of them of murder , and one of them is dead by the end of the night . The next day , there host still hasn't arrived , the weather worsens , and another is dead . They soon realize the nursery rhyme , that is all bordered up in their rooms , is relevant to the deaths and that the person that has invited them ( their host known as U.N.Owen ) tricked them into coming onto the island .
Nursery Rhyme :
Ten little Soldier boys went out to dine;
One choked his little self and then there were Nine.
Nine little Soldier boys sat up very late;
One overslept himself and then there were Eight.
Eight little Soldier boys traveling in Devon;
One said he'd stay there and then there were Seven.
Seven little Soldier boys chopping up sticks;
One chopped himself in halves and then there were Six.
Six little Soldier boys playing with a hive;
A bumblebee stung one and then there were Five.
Five little Soldier boys going in for law;
One got into Chancery and then there were Four.
Four little Soldier boys going out to sea;
A red herring swallowed one and then there were Three.
Three little Soldier boys walking in the zoo;
A big bear hugged one and then there were Two.
Two little Soldier boys were out in the sun;
One got all frizzled up and then there was one.
One little Soldier boy left all alone;
He went out and hanged himself and then there were none.
With the weather changing very often , there is no way to get on or off the island , which means their murderer , is one of them .
Haha , so dramatic ! Well , I actually did some research on the book . It used to be called something very more ... inappropriate now and days . And some versions the 17th and 18th lines of the nursery rhyme are different . Oh ! And for those of you that are interested in the ending "Who killed who? Who's the murder?" , well , my next journal entry will contain that SPOILER. So beware . You've been warned 3nodding
