Well, I'm..... not entirely sure how this all began. I mean, I've always been a bit of a manga and anime fan (just very quietly- Mom still thinks all anime consists of brightly colored animations of characters screaming their heads off- not my fault I like Dragon Half!), but I was never expecting to be in charge of an entire group of anime geeks. But here I am. President, no less. What the hell?
So here's kind of what happened. Aileen comes to my house on Thursday afternoon, and catches me reading manga. You see, when I had started dating her, I might have attempted to hide my little anime obsession, since I was dead scared that if she found out about it, she might make me stop, or worse, break up with me.
Luckily for me, it turns out that she's a manga fan as well- in fact, her friend from French class, Kyrrah, is organizing an anime club, the first meeting of which is on Friday afternoon during lunch. I'm not terribly keen on attending, but Aileen convinces me to go, saying that it's for the sake of supporting a friend. Okay, fine.
On the day of the club meeting, I discover that "organize" might not have been the right word for how the club is being handled. Kyrrah, for all her energy, has no leadership or organizational skills, and thanks to both her and DBZ fan Bruce, what starts as an anime club meeting quickly snowballs into a full-on brawl.
Well, being the idiot that I am, I jump into the middle of it all just before Kyrrah and Bruce are about to tear down the classroom in their conflict, and I scare them both into sitting down and shutting up. I'm still not sure how I did it, but the evidence is there; the club unanimously voted me President, and now...
Aww man. How do I get myself into these things?
